I mean how can anyone be nice without an ulterior motive right?

They've latched onto Ann as their champion because whilst being thoroughly loathsome in her opinions, dull, negative, homophobic, old fashioned, domineering...at least she's herself.

Thats the absolute crux of it. People are so used to those negative personality traits that they don't trust someone who is nice.

There's nothing wrong with Shane J and there's nothing wrong with Ann. We are humans, varied, flawed, every one of us has things about us that other people would object to. But as adults in society we have to learn to live together instead of dividing people into cosy little niches. Despite your claims about Ann, she's been good friends all the way through with Amanda. She has never said she hates gays but is against gay marriage. And instead of allowing her to have her views... a section of society has decided that Ann is a scummy homophobe and you're all doing everything you can to change people's mind around to your own way of thinking.

People like Ann don't worry me. People with views like yours do worry me. You have to cut people some slack. The constant harping on about Ann makes her look like a victim and it makes those hounding her look like they are the ones who are actually narrow-minded.

What a breath of fresh air on this Forum. Someone was tells it as it really is. I 100% agree with everything you've said 'elliebrew'.

I could also add that this is supposed to be the Year of the Woman. Celebrating emancipation and equality. Ann celebrates quite the opposite. She opposes equality be that gender or sexual.

She hasn't tried to stop anyone being themselves, she used it as a nomination reason, she didn't say stop. Snoring was used as a nom reason, they are not expecting that person to stop snoring but it is something they would rather not be exposed too.
Same in this case. I actually like Shane J and he has been my winner since he entered but this outrage on his behalf by his die hard fans is really putting me off.

People like you are the reason I left the gay scene and I'm so glad I did, as now I'm just accepted as me and as far as I'm concerned my sexuality does not need to be brought up every five minutes, the only person it should matter to is my partner and if people don't like it fine that's their problem, my life will continue just the same. Everyone has different opinions on life and you will just have to learn to accept that or just live your life being bitter and angry like you.

A lot of FM and a few of the british public don't like nice people. They're not used to genuine and positive people in their own life, so any housemate that appears that way will be deemed fake.

They've latched onto Ann as their champion because whilst being thoroughly loathsome in her opinions, dull, negative, homophobic, old fashioned, domineering...at least she's herself.

Thats the absolute crux of it. People are so used to those negative personality traits that they don't trust someone who is nice.

I mean how do you know Ann isn't being fake? No one can be fake nasty can they?

The woman literally voted against gay rights, has done nothing but cringe and roll her eyes every time the 'gay' lifestyle is brought up in the house.

Entirely different in Anns eyes. She's an advocate of a patriarchal society. She's a misogynist.

Seeing a man display feminine attributes doesn't sit well with her because she's so used to 'men being men'.

Amanda is a woman so it doesn't bother Ann as much because she sees women as second rate anyway.
