if a woman was supposed to win, they would not have put any men in
Given Courtney promoted feminism and equal rights for men and women (and other groups), I say that covers the whole "woman" thing
That said, the theme is meant to show men and women as equals, so really it didn't matter who won

I don't think too much to it to be honest, Courtney was the most popular housemate so she won. The theme was just a gimmick, it's big brother it just isn't that deep  If the point of the series was solely to have a female winner then first of all I don't see how that would fit in with feminism since it's about equality, and secondly they wouldn't have put men in.

if people are complaining that a man won the year of the woman, then they need to sort themselves out quite frankly :joker:

This!
People took the theme way too seriously and have no idea what feminism means.
Kate Lawler, Nadia Almada, Chantelle Houghton, Shilpa Shetty, Rachel Rice, Ulrika Jonsson, Sophie Reade, Josie Gibson, Denise Welch, Charlotte Crosby, Helen Wood, Katie Price, Chloe Wilburn, Coleen Nolan, Isabelle Warburton and Sarah Harding.
So yes, not really bothered.

If... would....
I love psychics.
Speaking of straight blokes, Shane Lynch was one of the most popular housemates, made it to third place and was one of the biggest feminists in the house.

Year of the woman was a cheap marketing gimmick, I imagine was based as an afterthought for the eye symbo they went with this year, I dont think it should reflect badly on who didnt win.
If a woman won there would be those screaming it was rigged!

Funny that, about the theme.. cause the last week and a halfs editing, and tonights interviews have certainly favoured a man...so bb pushed for a bloke to win on the year of the woman as well.
Now that can only be because ann was walking it....so its only equality for some women really.
fantastic posts!

Beyond ironic.
This week actual women lost their jobs
as 'walk on girls' were banned from darts and formula 1 for being stereotypical.
At the same time a man dressed as a female stereotype wins CBB.
Go figure.
