They are getting rid of the 5p carrier bags so you have to spend 9p for a bag for life :umm2:

I get the bags for life ones anyway tbh, the normal ones are crap.
I have a whole cupboard full of them and still forget to take them each time. So they are 'for life; in the sense that they will remain in my cupboard until I finally have a clear out, but not in the sense of 'buy once, use again and again'

we have 4 bags that hook over the shopping trolley, colour coded and attach to each other with velcro. then you fill them as you go around (bleeping your own stuff with the gun) and then you just lift it into the back of the car
you have to have a system

I haven't bought a carrier bag for years, we always use bags for life, we keep a few in the boot of the car and if I go shopping on my scooter I always use a backpack and have a spare bag under my seat. The handles of flimsy carrier bags hurt the skin on my hands anyway.
if you get Asda home delivery, they charge a flat rate for bags, and without fail forget to bag it at least once in a 2 month period. Complain, and you get a voucher with a value that far exceeds the price of the bags for the 2 months .... easy really :smug:

Well done :clap2:
Buy reusable bags - it's the best!

the standard bags are bio degradable, and much friendlier to the environment than a long life bag as they only last about the weight of a loaf of bread before they start disintegrating, so its actually more friendly to get the degradable ones
A question for people who get their shopping delivered
I assume they deliver it in bags? if they do, do they charge for them bags? And if not, do they ask for the bags back?

Asda charge a flat rate of 40p and for that you could have 100 bags

They all charge 40p but you can decide at the checkout if you want it delivered in bags or not

Well, then buy a decent one I guess.
Biodegradable ones don't necessarily biodegrade by throwing them wherever you want and under any conditions (+the amount of time it'll take for them to disappear).

Also when they first brought the bag charge in at Asda, the bags fir life had 2 bar codes, one charged you and one was a bag swap one. People in my asda used to scan the bag swap and got bags free....I tried it but they had just caught on that people were nicking bags and it set off the flashy light so I got busted lol. My criminal career was foiled before it got off the ground
