However, rumours have spread that Channel 5 and Endemol – who produce the show – are in discussions about its fate.
Now, Daily Star Online can revealed that Big Brother isn't set to go anywhere, and instead there's a plan to save the series.
Rather than getting the chop, Channel 5 are set to continue to air the show, but they want to pay less for it.

If this is true, I hope they spend the money on the right things (like tasks) instead of unnecessary things like a 4 THOUSAND POUND BATH

They’d save like 30% of their budget if they axed summer CBB so that’s already be saving more than they need to save, which means some of the savings can then go towards CBB & BBUK. Overall, cutting down the number of episodes per year by 30 will make winter CBB more appealing again and boost ratings, while more money for bigger names will also help. Then, with a bigger budget for just bbuk in summer, that will get help too.
Basically the ONLY reasonable solution is to axe summer CBB

They're going to give us an uber cheap house this year and claim it's because they're going back to basics aren't they?
so it’s going to get cheaper? can’t wait to see the editing....
Losing the music and the drone shots could probably save them a few quid :idc:
what music? they go into the rewind section of Poundland now
I mean, BB is at it's best when it's just raw, honest footage. The whole point of the show is that it doesn't need glossing up and made to look more expensive than it is.

That won't happen... Endemol aren't going to let their highest profile show go off air... It also helps that no one else is likely to pick up the show and they'll take significantly less than what Channel 5 are offering by attempting to migrate to an online exclusive format...

This. I couldn’t care less about the house design etc, although it’s a bonus to have a gorg house the main reason to watch BB is to see how people interact

wishing death on a tv show, damn i'm a horrible person x
telling someone you’ve reported them after reporting them is also against the rules and RichardG wished death on a TV show not a human being so you’ve put your foot in it there

I wonder if they'll still cram another Celebrity BB in this year .
Not paying so many bloody celebrities to do the show for no reason would also save money. 2017 had like 34 CBB housemates. That's A LOT of money to spend - especially when a lot of them probably contributed nothing. 10 celebs a series is fine and maybe one or two more a week into the series to add some excitement and freshness. But yeah, just signing for a January CBB and a summer civilian would save them a lot of money.

Or they could scrap the civilian version and just stick with 2 CBB 's every year :joker: .

Let’s add some up...
In 2015 they spent over £1.5 million on 3 CBB housemates in January, then added £50k to the bbuk prize for no reason, then put a ton more promo and effort into CBB UK vs USA. Then in 2016 paid £1m for 1 CBB housemate, built a whole new house and studio set (with the biggest wraparound LED screen in Europe) then in 2017 paid for many all star housemates at near £500k for some, and then spent thousands on the BBUK house and revamped CBB house. Now they’ve just spent god knows how much on a whole new creative direction, drone shots and £40k bath tubs.
Basically my point is that a huge budget cut probably won’t even be noticeable moving forward  less expensive unnecessary furniture, 14 housemates instead of 18-22 for CBB, and they won’t need to spend as much on stuff like the house and set as they’ve managed to do it all before budget cuts.

So...
Only one CBB a year
Cheaper furnishing
Less celebs than normal for CBB
Less housemates for civilian BB
Shorter civi BB (if that's even possible:laugh:)
Cancel BOTS / shorter episodes / 2 BOTS a week
Kill task team again
Cheapest z-listers from RTV for CBB
Rigged/harder tasks to get housemates on basic budget
Downsize the live shows even further (=more backdoors)
Shorter highlight shows
6 HL shows per week (old school BB)
Housemates growing their own food (chickens/veggies) - though it doesn't save much
Saying goodbye to Emma and getting low-budget Rylan to host the show
Smaller live shows' studio (not sure how it can help, when it's already the way it is)
No music
Less camera run guys
Housemates building their house by themselves (i.e. the dutch Utopia)
What else can they do to save money?
Them to have Emma prerecord all possible evictions during launch night and every housemate to leave via the diary room for their exclusive bots interview with Rylan on BOTS? :hehe:
