Nah it's like Love Island in that it's being filmed right now and there's app votes every now and then from the public.

From what I've gathered it's basically Survivor pre-merge, except the public are partly responsible for what happens at 'tribal council' i.e. they vote to save their faves from the losing team, and the members of the winning team get to vote out someone from the fewest vote-getters (so, from a strategic point, it makes sense to send the strongest person home out of the nominees, however emotions and romances come into play etc making it difficult/more complicated than that)

Just finished ep 2:
Not surprised one bit to see Tia go. The boys should've sent Georgia home tbh as she was the strongest of the three, but from the moment I saw the cast pictures I knew Tia would be first boot. Everything about her just screamed it. I'm sad she doesn't get the chance to tell her story properly and I think she could've caused drama down the line but oh well.

Newbies are definitely needed to stir this up though before the initial novelty of it being a new show wears off. What's Malia from Love Island up to these days? :laugh:

I think the public vote on this show is the most predictable one of all the ones I've seen. The public just vote for all the originals which is why we've had so many newbies come in and out.

This is why I've much preferred when they've let the contestants decide who goes, there should've been more of that and less public influence IMO. Or stop having votes where like only 2 out of 6 are saved.

Oh and they need to give over with these money twists, no one ever takes the selfish option and it's clear they're gonna share it with the most people possible (especially in this case where the Girls won the final challenge as a team). Feel like it was definitely rigged though because what would've happened if Jenny got the most votes like everyone thought? She isn't coupled with anyone so what would the twist have been then?

I hope this gets picked up for a second series, it got pretty much the same ratings as the first series of Love Island did, it deserves a second chance!

Anyway...a bit of a drab ending. The boys winning would've made for a better arc, but now I know Warren topped the vote maybe it was for the best :umm2: tbh the only reason I didn't want the girls to win was cause I didn't think Mettisse had any chance of winning and overrated Jenny would bore us all to victory instead

I did a complete 180 on David in the last few days, I'd found him annoying (and I couldn't work out why) for most of the series but honestly his uselessness in the challenges was a scream and the guy was just a total tool that I started stanning him ironically :joker:

Surprised this is getting a second series (presumably) but I don't mind too much, I did enjoy it overall but struggled to find a fave with the exception of LEGEND Georgia :love: also I feel like the format was a bit of a hot mess that the producers couldn't decide upon, needs ironing out going forward...less public voting, more internal votes. That said, I was really pleased it was a challenge that decided the winners!

Finally, the money twist was a total non-event...AGAIN! 'Mates or dates' hadn't been a theme the whole series so why now??? She should've just been given a straight choice, take the whole £40k for yourself or share it, much better TV.

it's so worth finishing, wayyyyy better than L.I this year, IMO it was the best during the time of the challenge when they were holding onto the logs and the girls went head to head returning to the lodge one by one goosebumps when mettisse returned :love: but the ending is still good and there is still loads of game playing between them with all the twists at the end.

They're very honest about wanting fame and being disappointed that they didn't get the Love Island treatment

-Warren was approached to go on Love Island Series 3 and was cast for the original line up but he didn't want to quit his job (which he would've had to do due to them giving him such short notice) - they sent a taxi to his house to pick him up but he didn't get in it.
-Instead he agreed with producers to go in as an intruder later in the series so he could give his work enough notice in advance, but then they didn't want to put him in Casa Amor because and they didn't put him in the Sam/Mike vs Two Newbies vote either because they wanted to make sure he got in the main villa.
-After a week of being in Mallorca with no phone/contact with home/being sequestered his family started to get worried because he wasn't popping up on TV, and in the end producers said it was too late to put him in and promised he would be on Survival of the Fittest instead

-Mariam was recruited for Series 2 of Love Island, she was supposed to go in as an intruder and after the first episode aired they rang her up asking her which of the guys she fancied, but then she chickened out afterwards and decided not to go in :laugh:
-Mariam said Survival of the Fittest 'had more black people in it' but 'it got cut', whatever that means? Unless she's talking about them being cut from Love Island/under-edited on SOTF
-They both think it's ridiculous how little ITV2 promoted the show compared to Love Island (Tristan & Mettisse said this as well) and they thought they'd be signing up to a show just as big/get the same recognition.
-Warren/Maz and Tristan/Mettisse both think the show should've focused less on challenges and more on love to link it more to Love Island and the Love Island fans
-Mariam says the agents/managers that promised them things after the show didn't even reply to their emails and didn't prioritise them, they were just waiting for the Love Island cast
-The homecoming after SOTF was disappointing for everyone, they thought they'd all be travelling back home together and have a welcoming party waiting for them at the airport but they all got sent to different airports and it was just a couple family members coming to pick them up while everyone else walked past them :laugh: They got recognised more in the South African airport than they did in the UK :joker:
-Maz thinks it flopped because there were too many eliminations and viewers didn't get to know people properly on the show
-She also basically indirectly said that white girls/white people get given the better opportunities (Love Island) as opposed to the black girls/black people (SOTF) :clap1:
