time to clean up ( removal of highgate village phone box by florence lote ) 18.03.18

you are no nightingale
your CNJ comment has no tolerance
so what if my idea was doomed to fail
i still object to you florence.
once they are rid
they won't ever return
just have to step over the skid
don't inhale because of the illegal burn.
my village would be sore
is this poem ironic
in no way is highgates a eyesore
it is special and so iconic.
sorry lote if they shame
you i am not trying to convert
a few years back i was on the "game"
highgate village was the advert.
it was great for rubbish
fly tipping was just mega
only once a bit of anguish
when i dumped on a homeless sleeping beggar.
yes camden is filling
change is needed and its vital
poetry and rubbish is over spilling
but to rid the phone boxes is personally spiteful.

https://ibb.co/n1WvHx i had a dream to spread my poetry through the best village in the world but i failed. still standing and standing by the phone box as even if they smell and look a bit old - they are a feature. as for the modern black phone boxes - yes take them away and don't bring them back as we all have mobiles. for those looking for the seedy adverts that used to plaster phone boxes - switch to poetry - it will satisfy your darkest of fantasy's !

Some of them in London are absolutely disgusting. I had to use one recently and I won't say the things I found in them :umm2: (I had to go to few because not only are they disgusting but a lot of them don't even work)

So if they're going be kept then they should be kept in good condition (and at least useable), and if not then yes they should be removed.

Ear infections were probably a lot more common when these were used frequently. I haven't seen a single phone booth / public phone in a very long time in the US.

I kinda feel like some should be kept around though in case of emergencies or for older folks (or others) that might've never gotten cell phones. But then again, if only a few are around and they're tough to find then they're not very useful anymore anyway.

I haven't seen one in years either.

There was an old one which stayed way too long around the corner. It didn't work for a decade before it was finally removed, just a dumping ground/toilet for druggies.

from the adverts displayed in them for various types of sex service, they seem to be performing a vital function

BT is Slowly taking away dead ones
The ones in your Zone Hog
are looked after by the folks that put books in them etc.

We still have a phone box just up the road from us. It probably doesn’t work but it was useful when I was walking the dogs last year and it started raining really bad.

In England some
of those life saving units have been stolen
from a Charity Hospice
as they can then sell them in Africa or other nations
They cost a fortune
