View Full Version : On a scale of 0-6, what is your gender?

Withano

Kinsey used this scale for sexuality, same could apply to gender.

Apparently only 8% of people should answer 0 or 6.

I have no gender. i guess in todays labels I would be 'a-gender' or 'non-binary'. I think gender is a load of bollocks and kind of like a religion...where you have to believe in a soul or something. So i am a gender athiest.

But I am a woman. As I am an adult human female

I'm a male, and that's all.
I don't like the suggestion that there's such thing as "almost male", like there's a certain way of being a male or a female.
I'm not a "masculine" physically strong, super confident and loving football - does it make me less of a male? I'm shy and sentimental - does it make me somewhat female because it's associated with women?
Instead of embracing the fact that there's no certain right way of being a male and female, the whole gender movement just give more legitimization to the archaic perception of these definition ("you're doing male the right way, so I can't put myself under the same label"). I don't like it.

I dont think thats the point. Some people feel male, some feel female, and some feel between the two points. Your personality traits and hobbies shouldnt effect or adjust your gender. But I suppose its a personal thing - might for some. I'd imagine its more of an internal feeling for most though.

How do you 'feel male'? I don't 'feel' female, I just AM female. Its not a feeling, its a reality.

This scale thing is basically, how masculine or feminine are you. Again, coming down to stereotypes. Its nothing to do with male or female tbh.

Edit. I don't mean this to be goady. i genuinely want someone to explain to me how someone can 'feel' male or female, rather than just BEING male or female.

What Vicky said.

I'm not sure what feeling male is, as I don't feel anything that is subjected to this.
The way I see it these are men who love britney, or pink or love makeup or whatever other feminine stereotypes - but since it's not "appropriate" for men, then they distance themselves from being a male, instead of saying "yes, I'm a male and I love all these things and I feel of these things and have this entire set of feelings, still a male - deal with it".

But i think there’s a difference between feeling ‘manly’ or ‘womanly’ and male and female.M and F are just biological terms.

I feel like me, thats all. I am female. I don't understand how someone can 'feel' male or female, rather than that just being what they are. As you apparently do, can you explain this 'feeling' to me?

Really seems to me that this 'feeling' male or female is actually being masculine or feminine. So stereotypes and interests? But whatever interests or whatever someone has, they are still the sex that they are. If that makes sense. A feminine guy is not a woman. He is a guy who does not follow stereotypes.

Well, thats why you answered x in the poll i guess, you dont feel any gender, others do. Explaining a feeling is pretty difficult, can you explain your lack of feeling and how that is possible?!
As far as stereotypes and interests go, I'm way closer to woman than man! I mean, this is thisisbigbrother.com, this is not thisisfootballandbeers.com.. So its nothing to do with stereotypes and interests (for me).
Several people have said they are 100% female or male.. its just how they feel, they might be better explaining that feeling than me!

I've also never had any feelings relating to gender, I would have assumed this was something that would only relate to people who experience gender dysphoria but maybe I'm wrong if people without it still experience feelings of their own gender. All I know is that I'm a man physically and I don't really have an awareness of what my gender is besides that. Unless social constructs are involved in this in which case I'd still not really know what to say  as I don't really pay any attention to how I should be in relation to those.

Fair comment. Anyone who voted 100% male/female...can you explain how you 'feel' male or female? Or is it a case (as I suspect) of you just feeling like yourself and knowing you are male/female?

I have no idea what feeling like a male is, only being a woman.
I don't do pink and fluffy, used to down 9 bottles of Brown on a night out, swear like a trooper and shag around for the fun of it, fight because I liked to:shrug:

If this is based on stereotypes (which is the only way I think you could feel like you are a gender unless you have dysphoria) I guess I would be 3 equally male and female as I am a beer drinking, football loving girl who gets her nails done but hates shopping. I am not girly girly but not a mad tom boy. I have pretty equal numbers of girl and guy friends and my best friend (of 30 years) is the girliest girl I know. I was born a girl, brought up a girl and have never felt like anything but a girl.

6, I am a man. I don't know how you're supposed to feel slightly male or mostly male, or even fully male. All I know for sure is that I am definitely a man.

The graph in the op confuses me. What does sexuality have to do with how male or female you feel? I used to think I was straight, but as each day goes on I'm finding myself more and more eager for dick. Does that make me less male? I don't know.
