I know 7 might end up a popular answer in a subject like this but when you think about it, a lot of that can be narrowed down to the mistreatment of Shahbaz, Sam and in the latter stages Michael. I think the cast was off the rails enough to most of the time be able to patch things up within a few days. For example, on a nastier series Nikki and Aisleyne's feud would probably be much more heated but they were way more cordial about their differences than they could've been and the series had lots of peacemakers that tended to be able to settle things down. It's still not a very nice series but I wouldn't chalk it up as one of the nastiest or harshest.

6 & 7 were the most, I feel like 6 was more openly bitchy though and they had no problem saying it to each others faces so it didn't seem as nasty as 7.
