usually i would say a blur is a disastrous picture, but i also quite like the pattern of this picture

very surprising, usually a blur gets a 4/10 from me, but this picture a deserved score of 8/10

That'll teach those folk to stop talking sh** about where you live... dayum... I'm not a saltwater person (more of a freshwater), but where I live, there are bodies of water nearby everywhere as well as beautiful plains and this looks similar to this in portions. It's like a European mix of Cape Cod & Galveston Island imo..

I don't live as close to the Gulf as before, but I swear on very particular days I have smelled the ocean in the air in my backyard. Especially recently when we had a lot of moisture coming from the Gulf causing frequents thunderstorms... it's nice that you live so close to water :love:

I get this view every full moon :love: We usually have a back light on for extra security, but I turn it off around this time of the month. My husband comes home in very late hours and he likes to sit there and drink before he goes to bed...

I sort of had to take a lot of bad ones to get a few good ones. Haven't got a feel yet for manual mode. And couldn't get the clouds really without the moon being too bright...

My last shot is my best I think (the bright crispness towards the top left, top part of the disc. But it's not as high contrast as the others, so others may favor those.

These are from my family's house/farm. The kitten is a new addition.... the bigger one is named Callie and is a rescue from when her mother was killed by a car. She was too young (and too friendly) to be left out so they brought her into the porch...

The other is a dumped kitten from people who drive by and commonly dump animals... anyway, she was wailing at the fence in the backyard so my family took in. Callie has taken to her like a Mother Hen. One would think they were related, but the pictures are super sweet... they've been calling the kitten "Little Bits".

I couldn't get too close because the kitten is still a little skiddish around strangers, so I had to change lens to something bigger...

Picture I took at sunset a while ago on my usual dog walk near Llangollen (the little structure you can see is Castell Dinas Bran [Castle] perched high on the hill). Really love this image considering it was taken just on my phone - love the yellow and the way the castle/hills are in silhouette slowly fading lighter into sky.

The two girls belonged to Wigtonshire, the daughters of Gilbert Wilson, a
committed Episcopalian. Despite this, the sisters were followers of the
Covenanters, an extreme Presbyterian group strongly opposed to the
Anglican reforms of Charles II. Margaret and Agnes, aged 18 and 13
respectively, were arrested for their beliefs and along with Margaret
McLauchlan, an elderly neighbour, tried for and found guilty of high treason.
All three were sentenced to death by drowning. Agnes’s father was able to
buy her freedom but despite a temporary reprieve the others were led to a
point below high water mark on the treacherous Solway Firth, tied to stakes,
and left to drown in the incoming tide. Margaret McLauchlan, by then in her
late 60s, had no resistance to the powerful current and soon succumbed to
its force. Margaret Wilson was offered her freedom, but refused to relinquish
her convictions and died for her faith on May 11th 1685.

The marble group was commissioned from Handyside Ritchie (the sculptor of
all the statues in the graveyard and of ‘Wee Wallace’ on the canopy of the
Athenaeum in King Street) by William Drummond, a brother of Peter
Drummond. It was erected in 1859, without its protective cupola. The cupola
was designed by John Rochhead, famous for his design of the National
Wallace Monument on Abbey Craig, and it was cast at the Sun Foundry in
Glasgow. It was put in place in 1867, necessitating the removal of a
symbolic marble lamb, which lay at the girls’ feet. Several other examples of
William Drummond’s munificence are to be found in the graveyard, each
with its own story. The story behind this one has no connection whatsoever
with Stirling, but is an eloquent indicator of Drummond’s obsession with
religion.
