It's gotten a rave reception so far and it's out next week. I think I might go see it tbh.

Saw it yesterday in a secret screening and it's brilliant. Best horror of 2018 and I can't see it being beaten unless Hereditary or Halloween are stunning.
Emily Blunt should get an oscar nod to be honest.

Oscars snub Horror Films.
I haven't seen the Film though tbf so I don't know if they'll be right to do that or not.

My point being that Horror Films have to work four times as hard as any other genre to get an Oscar nomination.
I mean look how many average Drama Films about a man and a woman that fall in love that get nominated every year.

Also, wouldn’t really call it a horror, much more of a thriller

It's honestly kind of liberating? I used to wait for films to come out on DVD and such if I couldn't find anyone else to go with but now I just go by myself during the day and it's marvellous because I basically get the cinema to myself.

 I'll consider it tbh
I was going to see Alien: Covenant on my own but I'm glad I didn't as it was pretty crap when I watched it at home.

Nah, it's just most horror films simply aren't that good. The genre's just had a bit of a renaissance in recent years since they've decided to do put effort into quite a few of them when before most horrors were thrown together because they are nearly always profitable whether they are good or not.
Get Out, IT and the Babadook have done a lot to revitalise the genre beyond the 'throw a bunch of pretty faces in front of the camera and throw gore at them' approach.
Those drama films get nominated because they are well made, well crafted pieces of cinema for the most part. Saw Part 53 simply doesn't cut it.

Be a strong independent woman that don't need no man to go to the cinema with.

I don’t think I’d find it enjoyable haha. I’d much rather wait four months and find a dodgy hyperlink. (I’m not a huge cinema guy anyway, three times a year at most).
I genuinely thought you made a safe space thread, and I was excited for the ironic drama in all honesty.
Is that all you do?....trawl the forum for conflict....:umm2:

I NEED to see this. My friend actually suggested it to me before it came out and I've wanted to see it badly ever since. Then when I asked him about it the other day he doesn't know when/if he wants to go :skull: :joker:

Just watched this (its available on all the good dodgy sites now). Honestly might already be one of my favourite films ever.

Me an my wife watched this last night, really enjoyed it. Jim vs blind aliens was always going to be a win.
Apparently there's a sequel in the works. Although it's supposedly another story set in the same world (maybe the people at one of the other signal fires), rather than an actual sequel with the same characters.

One of my friends told me this is amazing while another said it's awful (to be fair the one that said it's awful isn't a huge horror fan).
Then it's kinda mixed reactions in here as well. :joker: Is it good or not? :suspect:

Watched this on the plane last week. It was good but I was really tired, so wasn't really paying attention much.
