I think they've just put it there to get us thinking I actually dont think it will have any use. Remember early last year, people thought a disabled person was going in and then the producers put a RAMP in the house BUT on launch night the ramp was taken away and replaced with steps!!
I think there doing the same and playing up to the fact that BBAus has a phone.

Probably the housemates will be split (hence why the new house doesnt look as big as usual and that phone will be used for them to communicate lol. Or prehaps it's part of the twist that daniel was on about.

Yeah, on launch night Gretel said the phone would be used for something. As of yet, I dont think its been used so you never know.
I love all the ramps, I think they took the BB7 one away because there was less space if the kept it.
If you go on Being Big Brother theres a picture of the Australia phone, its the same old 70's style but its clear.

i want to have it as contact with other houses across the world. This isnt contact with the outside world because they are all in big brother! Imagine if the phone rang in the middle of the night and it was the oz house having a bbq in the middle of the day!

I don't think its anyone major. May just be used for a task or two which require phones to be used.

I'm reckoning some sort of exchange between a foreign Big Brother - maybe some foreign housemates are locked in a secret room (like the Secret Garden or House Next Door) and it's the only way the UK housemates can keep in touch.

Alternatively, it could be used for the Diary Room, or as part of a task or interesting twist!

Perhaps, the phone will ring and one of the housemates answer and it will be Richard, asking one of the housemates to let him in?
