View Full Version : Which new sections do you want on the Forum?

I think that we need to try and get some more activity on the Forum with new sections to attract different types of members, and maybe have something new for us all to discuss on here that may have interest in these topics.

Here's my ideas for new sections of the Forum.

Foreign TV A section of the Forum that discusses Live Action TV Shows that aren't from the UK or America.

Anime/Cartoons A section of the Forum that discusses Japanese Anime and Animation Shows in general such as Death Note, South Park, and Family Guy.

Comics I know this is a section that's ripping off DS's section, but it could be a good thing for the Forum at the moment, especially for members like Dezzy and TS who seem to be into their Marvel and DC Comics.

Guilty Pleasures A section where people reveal their most "controversial" opinions on light-hearted stuff on topics such as TV Shows, Films, Video Games, Music, whatever the topic, just as long as it stays fun.

That's about it for me, what do you guys want?

Replace your food forum with chat and games then - SD is one of the most popular sites on here. Without it the site would lose many members.

There is after all only so much you can say about food - the excruciatingly boring thread asking people what they have eaten that day is a prime example. :nono:

SD may be popular but it's extremely toxic a lot of the time and causes most of the forums issues between members, and I have no doubt guests can be put off joining from what they see in there.

I agree with Blurryface, and also Jordan’s post in the “would you like to see Serious Debates getting removed” thread about joining to have a “serious debate” in a primarily Reality TV forum or something along those lines...

Maybe you could create a “Serious Debates” social group instead, the main forum itself would be much more organised and more positive while the SD regulars can bicker there, I’m just saying my opinions so if you object then it’s fine with me...

Yep, I mean the environment is toxic because it seems all manners and etiquette are thrown out the door and instead of actually debating, members seem to just argue, insult and lose Ann sense of others feelings. I'm not naming names because I'm not there enough and not baiting anyone but it happens and the SD regulars are blind to it.

So you read all the posts in SD but dont post in it?

No of course I don't read all of the posts - some of it I don't have an opinion on - but sometimes if the topic interests me I'll have a look. I don't see why I should have to post either, I can do what I like  Either way, people like me will post there once and be crucified for having a differing opinion instead of sensibly debating.

In regards to what experience of political debate I have it's really none of your business and shouldn't affect my ability to join in in the section - but if you must know I competed in an Inter-Schools Debate 4 years running (finished in 2016) and argued points such as freedom of expression within teens of the 21st Century (the lack of it), and other things like immigration and prices of healthy food compared to unhealty. I was the Head Chairman for one year to.

To add to this I was part of a Youth Debate in the Houses of Parliament in 2014 I do believe which didn't really count for anything but gave us a bit more co fidence in talking about serious issues.

And now I'm part of the Student Parliament at my college, which may not be political based debate, but features the same basic fundemental skills.

Is that enough to satisfy your understanding I have no experience of political debate?

So tell me LT, what's your experience of Political Debate.

Of course I don't own a house but I know what goes into running it and don't take money for granted. I don't have a full time job because I'm actually In full time education in preparation for a lifelong career. I'm learning to drive so I don't get your point there. And if I had children at 16, which I don't, I'm sure you'd be judging the hell out of me anyway so it's not relevant.

I'm not going further off topic and I'm not having you downgrade my worthy experience so if you actually want to be a grown up and talk about this then you can DM me

...although it would be nice to see more pet../..animal related topics, Brillo...I think there are sections where those related things could be put now...depending on the specifics as to which section, obviously...

...in general though...I recall with the private section...although it’s a great section, it does also feel a bit that chat chat and games has become much quieter and less posted in with threads...?...because one section will inevitably take from another, I guess...so it’s more encouraging posting and activity in all sections as they are now..to keep the forum ticking along...the sections seem more or less well covered as they are, with the activity on the forum....

I will start by warning anyone thinking of opening an Internet 'Bookies' account to AVOID 888 sports.com who are SCAMMERS.

Please check them out on Trust Pilot and read the HORRIFIC reviews before signing up, giving card details or PARTING with any money.
