Castration will greatly lower both their sex drive and ability to have or maintain an erection, so sure, do it.

It depends. For most it won't make a difference. With serial sex offenders, sexual satisfaction usually isn't the main motivation for the attack, it's more about control and dominance. Reduced sex drive won't necessarily take that away, and they also don't necessarily need to be able to get an erection to sexually or otherwise assault someone for those reasons.
How do we treat female sex attackers...sew their vaginas up?

Chemical castration has nothing to do with genitals, they used to give bromide to soldiers to er, maintain focus on battle... I'd say it could work for some who have a sexual urge. I say make it voluntary, that way if someone required help who has not offended will be treated with the necessary sensitivity.
Volunteers who have offended could be offered a reduced sentence due to the reduction in the potential for reoffending?...
This might not remove in it's entirety the risk of offending but it could potentially allow police to concentrate more intently on those who are persistent or involved in producing material.

I largely agree with this :) Though I would add that the option should be there for self-confessed paedos as well, whether or not they've offended.

I remember a Luis Theroux documentary on American paedos in prison and some were voluntarily castrated. Don't remember if it was chemical or surgical.
