I´ve only watched the first one, but maybe not.

The first one was a Festival of Boring and an absolute chore to watch.

I saw the 5th season however many years ago it was and it was a good cast with gameplay much more active than what we saw in the NZ or AU ones.

Anyway first episode of this latest is now available, search for Survivor South Africa S06 E01 on google. I think the start has been lively with people playing right from the off.

Omg I had no idea this has come back! After a 4 year gap. The last series (Series 5) was amazing, it had some iconic characters and decent gameplay (although people could literally go into other peoples bags and steal idols :eyes:)

Welp the last season was predominantly black people with a fair amount of white people. I'm not sure why they've changed it up all of a sudden. (only TWO black women on an AFRICAN reality show??? Do you want my interest or not! :fist:)

-Annalize and Chane gathering the numbers to blindside Seamus <3 Tom is a stupid **** running straight to Seamus about it though when Seamus originally wanted Tom out. And then Tom still wants Seamus out??? Like wtf
-How did Ace end up on this show lol
-The two alpha white males of the tribe somehow being the only two to receive votes <3
-"SHAME IS..." being someone's actual vote :joker:

Seamus being first boot is so iconic <3 Although he was the only remotely attractive cast member but whatever!

A 5-4 vote in the first tribal council already sets this season up to be a good one! I'm optimistic about this season, definitely sticking with it!

Also was that tattoo on Seamus's arm a swastika or...? It looks quite similar to one :umm2:

Forgot to add, I liked that the premiere was 1hr 15 mins yet not a double episode. I feel like I already know a lot of the contestants just from one episode.

-Tom is TRASH. How on earth can he claim the idol to be his when Josie found it? "Can you get that idol and put that in your pocket Chane because that belongs to me" :skull: "I will be more than happy to play MY idol for one of them" :skull:
-The idols this ep are a mess, vile @ trash men having both of them.
-Palesa became my fave in Ep 2 and this ep she's solidified her spot as my fave :clap1: Strategic black queen!
-The men on the blue tribe are TRASH. All of them.
-Chane celebrating before they even won <3
-A mess @ everyone on the blue tribe openly throwing the immunity challenge
-Stacey-Lee's fake illness before tribal <3 Mess @ her randomly going from passionate superfan to not being able to care any less and wanting to quit the game :joker:

Sad to see Stacy go but I guess her giving up sealed her fate. Happy it spared Jeanne although I really wish the girls had just stuck together and voted out Werner tbh. Lol @ Marthinus voting Werner though. He seems like such a loose cannon I'm lowkey here for him lasting as long as he can until he becomes tiring

Stacy already did that sis! Oh well at least Palesa still has her idol! Just wish she had voted Chane out instead of flipping on Muri for no reason

Actually I don't mind Tom, Palesa was the one who drew the line in the sand the previous episode. Tom came out pretty well this episode I thought, and I want to see a balanced edit. Happy with the one who got voted out ep5. I can't really take to Palesa.

Four episodes in and I'm loving this so far! I was about to say it feels like an old school Survivor season, but the swap into three tribes and the introduction of a third idol makes me realise I might have been a bit hasty in thinking that

Ace </3 King of making his tribe go to rocks in the second episode to save the alliance he voted against in the first episode! King of digging a hole to China! King of setting up his own return in his final words!

Josie :( I mean, it's a wonder that she managed to survive so many episodes in the first place so I wasn't surprised to see her go, but she'd have been a nice addition to this already-great merge (at least, I assume so, and that this isn't a Palau-type situation in which Toni randomly and rather hilariously becomes this franchise's Stephanie LaGrossa)

Speaking of which, Toni's transformation into an OTT mess is much appreciated <3 PK deciding that Tribal Council would be the best platform to launch his brand new "let's vote out all of our allies at the merge" manifesto <3 The mere sight of Tom quite literally making Chané sick <3 Chané and Annalize spending the immunity challenge gossiping and telling each other how skinny they look <3

Tom didn't make Chané sick, it will just have been her eating too much chocolate. Ironic as she was complaining Tom was eating too much. Not the best result this episode, I wish the merge had come this week.

I found out today (well, via reading back through the thread on Clubs) that Seamus is apparently a neo-Nazi??? (or at least has a Wolfsangel tattoo, and as far as I'm aware that doesn't mean something different in South Africa to what it does in the rest of the world? Unless he's just a bit thick and always flunked History in school?)

On the bright side, I suppose me getting genuinely disappointed that someone in the cast might get a bit giddy over the Fourth Reich now and again is a sign of how strong this cast is, and that's not a sentence I ever expected to construct!

I just finished episode 3 and want to say that I *love* Stacey-Lee. Something about her arc of "tribe hero bc she can start fire in <90 seconds" to "cocky beta to even cockier Jeanne (:love:) and being completely oblivious to everyone hating them" to "wants to quit for literally no discernible reason" just really clicks with me. I also loved the following exchange at TC which I'll paraphrase.

Nico: Stacey-Lee... our medical team cleared you. You have been cleared to play this game.
Stacey: Yeah they did but you know when your body can't take anymore :\

Just finished episode 4 and even the production decisions are so good and refreshing? Like giving the third tribe a decked out camp was nice to see for once and it made the stakes of the Reward Challenge so much higher. Not to mention that it was nice to see that the new tribes weren't automatically assigned a beach and that they got to choose based on how they finished in the challenge.

Chane going out was wonderful, so much bitterness in her. She calls Tom a leech while sunbathing lol. If she didn't want Tom to use the idol she should have kept it herself lol.

And it carries over to both Vusi and Palesa, it's like in typical BB style they reinforce each other's limited view. At Ponderosa Vusi was saying how sad he was about how the tribes were done and that he wasn't around some 'cool' people, lol. Two out one to go, Palesa next hopefully. She said in a hilariously over the top voting confessional that every molecule in her body hated Tom. Those three will probably look back embarrassed.

I don't think they'll be embarrassed because next to Marthunis Tom is probably the most difficult person to live with out there? Like, Annalize and Werner literally said in the merge episode that he's annoying but they'll tolerate him just so he can vote with them. Obviously Palesa and Chane and Vusi handled him badly but let's not act like they're bad people for calling a spade a spade.

This season is... taking a turn but it's still 100x more palatable than any of the four most recent US seasons, so I'll happily stick with it

Chane was fun but we still have Toni and PK and KATINKA who I've grown to love lately and Palesa and even Werner is palatable for a predictable and strategically dominant winner. I appreciate everyone left so I honestly think I'll be fine no matter which way the season turns out.

Marthunis was completely different to Tom, he wasn't that interested in the game and really had no alliance. I don't remember hearing Tom say bad words at anyone, in contrast to his adversaries. I think Palesa was just annoyed Tom got the idol before instead of her, and with Chane that he played the idol for himself and not for her (confirmed by her saying it twice, at Ponderosa and her final voting confessional). I don't get the appeal of Palesa, I heard a couple of people elsewhere say she was 'bae' but that's it. She was good at getting clues early on and that helped her get a following.

I don't even know why I'm taking this up but it's entirely possible for someone to not say bad words about other people but still not be likable and actually rather grating. Tom was a nuisance from the get-go and he's been in a precarious spot all game because he's a lot to handle and his allies tolerate him at best. Look at how he yelled at Ace and Palesa and Vusi after the rock draw or how he shouted to Chane that she needs to give him HIS IDOL after the balance beam challenge even though she was the one who grabbed it.

Anyway, I'm 5 minutes into the new episode and Toni has been dragging Katinka's name through the mud relentlessly :love:

I'm GUTTED Palesa has gone, especially with an idol in her pocket </3 But I think she made it too obvious to Tom that she could potentially play an idol if he told her she was going.

I cannot stand Werner and his minions, so PK ftw! If not him then Toni simply for her iconic Katinka drags <333 But yeah this season has been amazing and even those these next few episodes are gonna suck so bad I'm gonna try and not let it taint my enjoyment of the show

Can't believe I liked Jeanne at the start of the season, she's bottom of the barrel trash.

Werner and his 5 person alliance is honestly one of my least fave alliances ever, there's not even one of them that I would be ok with winning as a last resort. I suppose I'd root for Annalise at a push, but it'd have to be a BIG push because literally all these idiots are playing for Werner to win. Qwhite disappointing considering this season has been stellar up until now.

Anyway PK threatening to whoop Tom's old fat ass next week <333

With the jury as it will be Tom has no chance so him getting trust from Werner to go to the end I think is a good move. Others don't have that excuse, Jeanne for instance even knows Werner has an idol still, yet she wants to ditch Tom and keep with Werner to the end. Annalise and Katinka are not much better.

Good immunity/reward win for Tom, but only having to remember 6 blocks did seem easier than you'd expect. I liked him showing thanks for Jeanne's support.

I was legit rooting for Chané so hard, i havent rooted for anyone hard for couple of seasons up until this point. If people think survivor is rigged they should watch this season, they would never rig it for this disgusting group of 5

I stopped watching when Palesa went home with an Idol! I liked PK also but I knew he would follow.

I wish Palesa/Tom/Charne/Vesi team threw the challenge before merge and voted out Tom as Charne said... That would have spared Josie and this would have changed the course of the game making it very exciting, with Palesa/Charne/Vesi/Josie/PK/Toni being the leading alliance [That would have been an interesting group..] and would have forced some interesting idol plays from Warner [likely getting voice from Toni on who is going] to make the game not one sided, likely Vesi/Charne being voted out by idols.

Warner deserves to win. Jeanne and Tom are both pathetic players.

Tom has won two immunities and survived a tribe trying to get rid of him, I'd hardly say he's pathetic. I'd understand him siding with Katinka if the jury would actually vote for him over her, unfortunately with the bitterness it's unlikely they would. She was a terrible player though, blabbing about everything, she's just overrated as some think she looks cute.

What has Annalize ever done? She had an extra vote that she wasted, that's all I remember. She's been outside the main alliance and been dragged along, never done much in challenges. All she does is smile to the jury. I think the Tom/Jeanne friendship is cool too.

Annalize's edit is the biggest misstep this season because she clearly worked her ass off during the tribe swaps to get in tight with Werner's Bus/Mafia/whatever. That's probably the most impressive non-Werner move of the game, because by all means she should've been taken out in that Vusi-Chane-Palesa slaughter. She worked her way into the majority by her own accord. Tom just got dragged along bc he was so annoying that no one on his tribe liked him.

I would disagree and thought Palesa, PK, Chane the most likable. Whereas Jeanne was extremely annoying, much alike Tom. There is a reason the majority of people didn't like either of their personalities

There was no majority against Tom that I've seen, we just had loads of confessionals from Chane,Palesa, Vusi. Others, of those who actually knew him on the show, didn't hate him at all, Toni is another of them. Even Palesa admitted (something I had already considered) that she was against him because he was similar to her in wanting to be in control and being forthright.

No they didn't lol, they were transparently using him just to pad their voting numbers. Jeanne confirmed as much with her absurd arrogance that Tom would willingly be voted out in 5th place and ultimately just be grateful that they ragged him along. Werner too, ever since the merge episode his entire attitude was "Tom's all alone and looking for somewhere to shack up so I'm going to use this to my advantage."

Finally watched the episode and man that was exhilarating. Annalize definitely deserves the win despite what some people argue because she really is Danni Boatwright's South African relative or summat. That being said, I'm almost expecting the completely absurd Tom/Jeanne F2 with Tom coming out on top which like... I'm not particularly a Tom fan but I never hated him like the people on Palesa's dick did, and Tom winning would be a hilariously disastrous ending that I wouldn't be able to help but enjoy it.

Yeah the end game was so bad :joker: I was the same as you and thought there was absolutely no way Tom could win and was fully rooting for Werner to be eliminated every ep - but because he brought pretty much all the goats with him to the end and they turned on him, we ended up with two of the biggest goats of all time as the final two :skull:
