....this is so hard...I said in the chat thread a few days ago that I would do Most Loved very soon ...as I had started to prepare for it at the time...I don’t think though that I am going to have the energy to do it as it’s quite consuming in how much time it takes...(...it is a lovely thing to do though, very rewarding because of the positive nature of it..)...but I feel atm it would just be too stretching for me personally...


...I don’t want to postpone it further either and say I may be able to do it when I’m more recovered etc...because that’s also a commitment and this might be in some way, a little bit of goodbye thing as well...as close as it could be anyway...


..what I would like to do is to have someone to ‘hand it over to’ as has been traditionally done...if you feel that you would like to do it, give it a go..?...and if you have the time etc...could you PM me please...I’ll log on for a few days or so, just to check for messages etc...PM is better I think than posting in the thread ...because then the new host can be announced in an amazing surprise way....

Just to actually clarify (since I am so talked-about it seems :hee:):

- Five years or so ago I think I might have gladly given it a go, but for me it's something I don't really care about any more. Not to discredit those who would care about it and want to participate in/host it... it's just a bit dated to me and could do with a revamp of some kind.
- I've actually been planning to do some kind of ranking thread to do with Drag Race and maybe I'll take over Most Loved if we get a Drag Race subforum, actually... #hustle... but yes if I ever get around to doing a mammoth thread with wordy posts it'll most likely be for something else at the moment.
- I've been gradually weaning my hosting responsibilities away the past year or two: I've given the TiBB Awards to Riley, TiBB Euro/Xmasvision to Josiah, and I've no real intention of hosting In Cold Blood or the Music Awards again (the latter because literally no one bothered to vote, the former because it's exhausting creatively)... for a group of reasons, really. I'm working a lot more, I've generally got very little passion for the site as it stands, and where I used to be happy organising huge Wordpad files of votes, reasons, stories, games, and plans, I just find it all a chore now :laugh:
- Just to elaborate, and I don't want to piss on several parades here but I feel it needs to be said, the general repetition of games on here the past few years has been a little...tiresome. It does seem that most games come about with recycled tasks, and a same old "Big Brother" format whereupon its participants just behave like hyperactive children. And false "bitch" personas and the sort. It's all a bit... ATRL (for the non-gays, that's a music forum inundated with pop stans). I'm aware Most Loved isn't the same format, and isn't a 'game' per se, but I just think it'd turn into the same old thread with the same members posting a lot, with little content.

For what it's worth, I would nominate one of the following should they be so inclined to take over:
- Niamh (the only user to best me in post count, she would run it with heart if not with smarts :hee:)
- Lostie! (another former winner, but also very good with words and quite a 'neutral' forum presence)
- Rob! (just to give him a break from writing his actual material and see how he handles the trickiest of chapters... "#43 - Calderyon". But also because he's a comfortable writer and this game requires a lot of that)
- Will (if it's presented on Livestream with a celebrity guest announcing the winner)

There are others I'd recommend but I assume they're also very busy / have other commitments lately (T*, LemonJam, Livia, Dezzy)... and obviously former hosts too.

Honestly though, I think rather than Most Loved... we should have a Biggest Characters competition... there are a lot of folk who do kind of play lonewolfs on here and so they're under-represented, and that's not really anyone's fault, it's just that forums and social networks etc tend to reinforce cliquey behavior... would be good to do that at some point. Maybe I will do it at some point... personally, it's the characters that keep me returning... even people who are not so enthusiastic about my posting style when I reply in blog posts :laugh:... here for when everyone knows whose quotes are mine because they're 10 paragraphs...
