Rita did this song with the writing team for her album around September 2016. The version with Charli and MØ was supposed to be her first single a year ago but Your Song happened. Then when she performed it at Big Weekend, Raye took MØ’s place for the live performance. Bebe (replacing MØ) and Cardi ended up on it late summer/early fall (making the artists all Warner) and it was supposed to be released in January. It’s been alleged that Cardi had to sign a contract for the Finesse Remix banning her from any other features for 5 months, holding the release of this up again.

At least it's not a situation like The Middle, where they auditioned every female singer alive and still couldn't get anyone famous to do it
