I tried once a few months ago when I was out with friends as a joke and I got terrified after the first few seconds lol
It does seem like the easiest thing ever, but once you get on the bike without any experience it's hard
I would love to fix it someday, but I'll need a little push (no pun intended:laugh::

If your feet work fine, you should know how to ride a bike.

If you are disabled, you have a pass.

I've never heard of a Camp with bicycles for every kid. I don't think you will have to worry about It here in N.A. Keeping bicycles stored and tuned up rt and of the right size for summer camp just isn't done here.

I'm sure they'll realise that not everyone is able to ride a bike, especially if it's at a special needs camp. You've got nothing to worry about, I'm sure the only thing they'd care about is whether or not you can swim in case you do fall in a body of water (but even if you couldn't, I'm sure they'd have lifeguards)

y.winter
12-05-2018, 03:35 PM

What I'm saying is that ridiculing people who don't know how to ride a bike is childish and less impressive than not knowing how to ride a bike.

Excuse me to those saying it's bad parenting those of us that can't ride a bike your wrong my parents always tried to teach me I was fine for a while when I was about 9 or 10 then fell off had a really horrible accident and I haven't wanted to go on one ever since so it's not that I can't ride a bike it's that I am a bit fearful of them thank you very much

Hardest thing I've done in parenting is teach my son to ride a bike. I nearly wrapped it round his head a few times  He kept looking at his feet on The pedals and not where he was going so kept falling off. I don't remember it being so hard to learn.....my nerves and patience were frazzled

Wouldn't worry about Camp America Marc, you'll be great and if there is bike riding elements you may learn a new skill but if you're not a confident rider they are not going to make you take kids on bike rides. Health and safety will be paramount, especially as you're working with special needs

Marsh.
13-05-2018, 09:39 AM
Chances are you'll be given a big four wheeled thing which the kid is sat on to ride them about so you'll be fine anyway.

Not a car before anyone takes the mick. :nono:
