Dani to sue Endemol over Race Row

According to The Guardian, Danielle Lloyd made a statement this afternoon:

"I am planning litigation with the makers of Celebrity Big Brother and have made my own complaint to Ofcom about the way Celebrity Big Brother was edited, specifically that footage which would have shown me making up with Shilpa was never broadcast, leading some viewers to form an unbalanced opinion of me. As this matter is now in the hands of my lawyers. I can make no further comment."

She's such an idiot. For a start, she has managed to get away with her disgraceful behaviour (largely by using the method of getting her norks out at every opportunity), and BB has actually given her tons of publicity. She should be grateful.

I would like to say that it's utter madness, because from a legal stand point I'm sure it is. However if Danielle wants to let this roll all the way up to court then that doesn't cost that much and she will make far more from all the publicity it will bring. However if she actually pursues it all the way and steps inside the court she is probably then putting everything on the line. She has got BB at a moment of weakness and her lawyer must have convinced her that endemol might go for a big settlement.
Personally I think she will end up looking pretty stupid after the things she said on CBB, and even more so now that her words will be seen over and over again and she will never get away from it. Move on Danielle :spin2:

Lawsuit lands on doormat of Big Bro house

The fall out over the race row during this year's Celebrity Big Brother continues in the UK with the former Miss Great Britain who appeared in the show threatening to sue producer Endemol.

After media regulator Ofcom rapped Channel 4 on the knuckles yesterday for breaching broadcast codes, Danielle Lloyd accused Endemol of editing the show so that it allowed viewers to form an "unbalanced opinion" of her.

Lloyd was one of the contestants accused of making racist remarks about fellow Big Brother housemate, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty. She admitted yesterday that some of her behaviour had been unkind but noted that Ofcom's findings absolved her of racism.

The media regulator's finger instead pointed firmly at C4, which it said had made "serious editorial misjudgements," but now Lloyd is directing blame at Endemol.

"I am planning litigation with the makers of Celebrity Big Brother and have made my own complaint to Ofcom about the way Celebrity Big Brother was edited," said Lloyd in a statement.

Others, however, including Labour MP Keith Vaz, are calling for the resignation of Andy Duncan but the C4 CEO has ruled this out. The broadcaster will, however, air an apology when the new series of Big Brother begins next week.

All this was going away actually and we were looking forward to a new & exciting BB show.

But suddenly, Ofcom have decided to dredge it back up again, so we are debating about it.

Now we have a New Rule book to follow in regards to BB8

So Danielle Lloyd is not messing about.

In a way this is not a case that Endemol could ever settle out of court as it would set a precedent to all those many others who have claimed to have been
badly edited.
Presumably the whole case can't be based purely on BB not showing her and Shilpa making up. We did see her make up with her in the bedroom didn't we?
