Big Brother: Live Launch

Wednesday 30 May
9:00pm - 10:15pm
Channel 4

Help, it's back again! Heaven knows why millions of us get hooked on watching a bunch of sleep-deprived show-offs argue, flirt and sunbathe their way through the summer, but we do. How I dread that experience of gazing blankly at a screen wondering what some literally bored-to-tears housemate will do next, and yet every now and then BB throws up scenes of such screaming, comic strangeness that just for a moment, you love it. Yes, Davina McCall's a pain, yes, Geordie Narrator gets wearing, and yes, the whole edifice is pumped up to the point of horror (586 people now work on the production and its spin-offs), but summer would be duller without it. Tonight, Davina introduces the housemates, who walk past the placard-waving weirdos in the crowd and step, squealing for joy into their new home. Good luck to them.

Why is it scheduled for just an hour and 15 mins? Surely they need longer than that to get 13-15 housemates in and do a house tour and show clips and have 5 mins of live feed :conf:. Plus why are radio times so negative about everything, the only programmes that get off lightly with them are those produced by their parent the BBC .

Oh, and remember there are two live shows on the Friday, so a second batch of housemates could go in then...

I think only 12 are going in on Wednesday.

Or the first batch of housemates could all be evicted and we can all go home

I never read the Radio Times, its too... old fashoned and Dr. Who obsessed. I prefer the TV Times, who always give a fair comment on each programme.

The first friday will be an eviction or something I'm not gonna get my hopes up for anything more. I'd rather though more hms because I dont think there should be an eviction till the end of the second week when we have given the evictee a good chance to entertain us and save themselves.:colour:

I dont think it will be an eviction on Friday. I think it will be more housemates or we will see the housemates split and some move into a second house.

DS have reported that the producers are not yet sure.

It might have something to do with the digital housemate thing.

I dont think a listings site/mag owned by a particular broadcaster should do listings for other channels.

Your right, I dont think we'll get many hms this year, minus c4's very long ad breaks, the house tour time and the series intro and clips they will only have about 2 and a haf minutes per housemate entrance. There again c4 may move desperate housewives to accommodate bb if it :dog:s over.. It's pre-recorded/delayed this year so they may fit it in by editing out bits of their entrances or by making their audition tapes shorter.

It was 1 hour and 15 minutes last year

I'm sure it was 1 hour and 30 mins last year.

GhettoSuperstar

It should be 2 hours.

Yeah i think twelve are going in to, twelve spaces in beds, and ten spaces in dining room, thats a bit odd for 13-15 housemates

Here are all the launch times and durations:

Big Brother 3: 9.00pm to 10.00pm (1 hour)
Big Brother 4: 8.30pm to 9.30pm (1 hour)
Big Brother 5: 10.00pm to 11.15pm (1 hour and 15 minutes)
Big Brother 6: 9.00pm to 10.15pm (1 hour and 15 minutes)
Big Brother 7: 9.00pm to 10.15pm (1 hour and 15 minutes)

For BB3 and BB4, there was a house tour and 12 housemates within 1 hour, but the house tours were rather brief.

So its the same as previous years

Lil-Lindz
27-05-2007, 04:12 PM
well if it is shorter it is probably because there are fewer housemates going in. But if it is shorter they will fit it all in

JOSHUAH!

I think 1 hour and 15 minutes is fine. Davina does a quick but good house tour, then gets on with the housemates. Im actually really intrested in the graphics this year, BB6/7 have had great graphics such as the LIVE thing. Will be intresting to see this year!

was it not this long last year too? :S

Yea exactly, the house tour will be short but good so you can see everything
and then on with seeing the housemates. And i cant wait to see all the graphics either, it will be nice to see how they have made it slightly 3D
