Completely agree with this. I could even see the potential for future law suits against those so-called law-makers trying to enforce this kind of speech control on everyone. Totally disgusting. Yet again PC madness.
Ze and Zir indeed - these people are complete control freaks. I cannot see the legal system agreeing that the non-use of such pronouns could logically be described as a ‘hate’ crime.

I'm pretty sure he's said before that on a one-to-one basis, he would (and has) use the correct pronouns for trans people, and the preferred fake pronouns for "nonbinary" people. What he's against is having it illegal to not do so.

And he would be right in that. Surely you don’t disagree! How could that ever be an acceptable and valid law?

I can attest to this being my understanding as well.

I really dislike this dude; his ideas about religion and atheism are just a mish mash of absolute nonsense, but I have to say on this point, I actually agree with him in terms of freedom of speech.

See, I agree with most of his psychology but not his religious stance at all... essentially, I think he's highly intelligent, and what you're describing in bold is EXACTLY what happens when highly intelligent people try to get logic and reason to fit with religious faith (because it just doesn't).

Did you see his podcast with Russell Brand? I generally like Russell, but this was just pretentiously incoherent word salad.

How would they enforce a law like that... unless it means in written down form, like via letters or emails? That law doesnt make sense if it means through spoken words though.
Like it makes you a bit of a dick if you use the wrong gender pronouns, it doesnt make you a criminal (in most examples).

I guess it would be enforced in the same way as calling a black guy the n-word or calling a gay guy a ******?

It isn’t workable. Your example would involve actually using offensive words towards people whereas how can anyone be accused of a ‘hate’ crime for not using politically correct pronouns when addressing certain groups - it is a completely different scenario. The PC brigade are getting way too big for their boots and this is a good case of giving people enough rope ... The whole thing is a joke. Canada has gone way down in my eyes.
