Big brother 8: A Small Mind

Britain is once again graced by three months of watching self obsessed people making themselves look stupid merely by their very existence, with little hope of achieving anything other than profit for the production and broadcast companies involved. Why is Big Brother such a terribly wasted opportunity?

Big Brother is watched largely by the "lowest common denominator" and encourages no more than purely shallow viewings.


Grr. Sorry this just irratates me that its steretyped as like the "lowest common denominator."

Thats pathetic. What makes me tick is how people say its rubbish, but if its that rubbish and that 'low' why has it lasted 8 main series, 5 celeb series, and 2 spin offs. Watched by millions. Takes over the newspapers, and the TV.

I wish people would just stop hating Big Brother, they should "privatly" hate it instead of ruining the series for everyone else. Like the racism row, why did all those people complain to Ofcom about it, they're spoil sports :@

I know, I hear quite a bit people saying, 'I can't believe you watch that' etc. - well each to their own, I guess. Lots of people watch it - all types of people as well - so it's wrong to generalise. It's just a matter of taste, and for some viewers BB just appeals to them, and they're entitled to it. I think it's a fun, interesting, entertaining reality TV programme that also happens to be very popular!
