View Full Version : Tulisa is the 'new' X Factor Judge

Probably going to get dragged for this... but I have heard from a very reliable 'friend' that Tulisa has signed for The X Factor panel.
She was third choice after Rita Ora and Mel B - apparently thanks to Lauren Silverman and Ken Warwick.
She is returning to the UK W/C 25th June.
Announcement is expected within the next two weeks.

Sharon was not part of the original lineup this year. She is on the panel thanks to a contract that was signed in the beginning of 2016.
According to what I've been told, the original plan was for a Simon, Rita, Mel and Louis panel. Mel was sidelined for Sharon and Rita is not available.

Planning 10 weeks of live shows. Saturday nights only.
There is no bootcamp this year either.
Format: arena auditions, six chair challenge, judges homes, live shows.
I was told that judges homes is in question.

That's good to hear! What about the sing-off/judges vote?
I've always found Bootcamp underrated but it makes sense to get rid, Judges Houses is a staple though...that's worse than ditching the room auditions (again!)

Can they just have Queen Mel B and have done with!?
Mel B was originally in Sharon's place before legal disputes kicked off a few months ago.
Was then in line to be second female judge after Rita rejected.
Tulisa signed a contract - apparently - earlier this week when it became clear that Mel could not commit.
It's been very up and down for her. But she is on AGT at least.

Was reluctant to post again but the guy I am in touch with says things have changed.
Believe me or not - I have nothing to gain from posting.
He's saying that it's back to Mel B.
Been swinging between the both of them for awhile now apparently... thought it had fixed to Tulisa but only on the basis of Mel's situation - which has now changed.
Must be very frustrating for Tulisa. She was initially due for a 2015 return, too. They really string her along, don't they?
Mel or Tulisa - they're very similar and bring similar things... I can't see why you'd go out of your way for one over the other. There's not much in it so I don't know why it's causing such a drama. Just stick with Tulisa.

Of course but when you want ratings and you have the budget ITV does then it could pay off if assisted with a few format tweaks.

Exactly! When will they realise that BGT found a panel that worked, stuck with it and then focused on nailing the format around them (they introduced the golden buzzers at the same time which have been a good addition)
This panel was the perfect one, the problem is their embarrassing, desperate format changes year after year

I don't care for Amanda or Alesha but my point is it works, it's been a constant for six years and the ratings haven't freefallen like X Factor's have
Maybe that's the problem, they haven't found a panel that worked since 2010.
It's weird to think that Simon's catastrophic gamble in pissing off to America with Cheryl was actually the catalyst for the decline. The show had just had two peak series, and they thought it'd be a great idea to replace 3/4 of a winning panel :conf: things have never recovered since and they've tried and failed to limit the damage but have actually accelerated it

Tulisa, Robbie, Mel and Simon.
First announcement is tomorrow afternoon.
I've been told to stress that this will be the 'main' panel this year... not the only.
The permanent three as confirmed are Tulisa, Mel and Simon.
Throughout the series, a different judge will fill the fourth seat. The details are (apparently, anyway) still being finalised regarding what this means for Sharon's role. She is either going to join as a fifth judge in the live shows, or will become the 'permanent' fourth judge for the live show period.
Throughout the auditions, a different fourth judge will join the panel - with Robbie filling it for the longest and for the most important parts of the show, including Six Chair Challenge and Judges Homes before he passes the category on. He will not be judging the live shows.
I have been told that guest judges are - in addition to Robbie - Ricky Martin, Rita Ora, Kylie Minogue and Mariah Carey.
Very interesting development and was not the initial plan at all. Louis was going to be on the panel until he gave way only two weeks ago...
