former player and chairman of Feyenoord Gerard Kerkum aged 87 has passed away
Kerkum became a member of Feyenoord in 1946 aged 16, 4 years later he made his debut into the first team as right back, he played for 15 years on that position in the first team, playing 349 matches, most of those matches he was captain of Feyenoord
Kerkum became champions 3 times with Feyenoord, he also had 1 international appearance for the dutch national team
after his playing career, he first became a member of the board at Feyenoord, then chairman from 1982 to 1989 during his reign as chairman feyenoord won the Europa cup I (now known as the champions league)
