The Redemption Island twist really is awful and this sounds like a carbon copy but even worse. No weekly duels? So they can just wait and wait on the island and then eventually come back, after winning one comp I guess? :joker: Not sure how that'll work.

Here's the thing, even if it helps a person I like, I just don't really care about it because it tarnishes their potential win anyway. It gives them more screen time but meh. And in the worse scenario, if someone I don't like comes back then that just becomes frustrating/exhausting to go through them being the target all over again / needing to win IC's or find idols. It makes things repetitive and makes the evictions feel less important.

Returnees in general are simply better done in Big Brother because the format gives them a bit more opportunity to make a comeback in the game (if they have at least 1-2 allies that keep them safe, or two chances to win power in HOH and veto).

UPDATED: 07/13/18: Inside Survivor can now confirm that the theme will indeed work like the original Ghost Island concept mentioned above. When a player is eliminated they can choose to quit or go to the Island of Extinction (IOE). Players can leave at any time. There will be two chances for a player to win their way back into the game – at the merge and then around Day 35/36. The IOE does not reset at the merge; the extinct castaways who don’t win their way back into the game can continue to live on the IOE until Day 35/36 when the second opportunity to reenter arises. Yes, that means pre-merge boots could be living alongside post-merge boots. And yes, that theoretically means the entire cast could still be alive in the game come Day 35/36. It could also mean a player eliminated on Day 3 still has a chance to reenter and win the season.
