France will dominate this group easily and finish with 3 wins and 9 points. Denmark and Peru will battle for the 2nd place and Denmark will get it because of experience. Australia will fight their hearts out in every match, but will end up in 4th place and maybe a tie against Peru in their belt.

:oh: Peru isn't that good tbh and Denmark has got a few overrated af players in their team

I hope Australia can surprise and finish in top 2, but it is a very hard job to do.

true, but the aussies have got both experience and talent in their squad

only that goalkeeper isn't too reliable Brad Jones, we know him at Feyenoord here in holland, that he could often make some awkward errors :worry:

If they take too much of a loss against France, they might lose their confidence.

Bert Van Marwijk, he's our former dutch team manager, he got the saudi's to this world cup, he won uefa cup with feyenoord in 2002, he was manager of borussia dortmund

the aussies have a good coach in him

France not giving their best against Australia. combined with Australians defending ferociously this might well end in a scoreless draw.

Have you ever seen Italy play? Thats basically 55 % of their strategy. 40 % is defending and 5 % is counterattacks.

Missed the majority of that, only caught the last 10 minutes (inc. injury time) so missed all the goals. Was it a good game?

france made lots of errors, playing too rushed

Lucky france here, and Australia were decent i thought, it felt a bit unfair the result

penalty now for Australia :cheer2:

bots
21-06-2018, 01:06 PM
i don't think that penalty should have been awarded. The defender had no chance to get his arm out of the way as the distance between his arm and the ball was so small.

MTVN
21-06-2018, 01:10 PM
I think it was a pen but I don't like the game being brought back for it after they'd played on and it's clear that there's still controversy with VAR

Imo it should only be used for black and white things like offside or the ball over the line

Nicky91
21-06-2018, 01:11 PM
it was hands from poulsen, fingertips is still hands

It's kind of boring how most of the teams (France included) score one goal and then start defending without even trying to score another one for the rest of the game. Hopefully things change in the knockouts.

Well done to France though! The first half was really good.

Embarrassing from a team like France to be timewasting with 20 minutes to go against bloody Peru

Mystic Mock

France and Denmark are saving themselves for the knockouts I suspect.

James
26-06-2018, 02:27 PM
I can't understand Deschamps' thinking making all these changes.

Unless he is planning to keep them for the next match. If he is bringing back the main players surely you'd want to play them here to try and get something going.

Nicky91
26-06-2018, 03:07 PM
peru  i didn't expect them to lead 1-0 against Australia tbh

Calderyon
26-06-2018, 03:58 PM

France and Denmark advance.

Nicky91

i think Croatia now wants to avoid facing france so i expect them to bring their a-game again, vs Iceland tonight

It's frustrating to see how France are not making use of the talent they have. Only positive for them is they don't concede much.

England maybe playing the more entertaining Football, but France have got the technically better players that have beaten/gotten results against better teams than what we've faced so far.

England have done well so far and I am happy about that, but it's best to not get carried away yet.
