Argentina will probably run with this group getting either 8 or 9 points. Croatia will probably finish second since they have a fairly good team and experience. Iceland will fight and never give up, but in the end the difference between talent is too high and they will fall in to third place with a win against Nigeria as their merit. Nigeria will lose all of their matches and finish 4th.

Come on Iceland, cause an upset :clap1: Hope this group is as open as it looks on paper, all four teams could feasibly qualify for the knockouts.

HORRENDOUS match for the Argentina team.
Not even a fan of Croatia and was actually rooting for Argentina, but Croatia deserved it. Argentina played terribly today.
Argentina NEEDS a new coach. Their current coach doesn't have a clue on what he's doing.
Btw, this is Argentina's worst defeat at the World Cup in the group stage in over 60 years.
Wow
Messi is no where near the player for Argentina that he is for Barca. I dont care about the stats and how often they win when he plays, with him and without him Argentina are sh*teArgentina wasn't that great of a team in 86 when they won it, but they had Maradona (the greatest Argentinian football player ever)

Goodbye at Mercado and that planned trip

Agree but still the commentators there go on about how 'sad' it is to see him frustrated and that he's just surrounded by players not at his level as if he's absolved from any responsibility, his performances have also been consistently well under par at international level

Argentina have joined Germany and Poland in the shock defeat camp.
Argentina managed to make Saudi Arabia against Russia seem semi-credible after that first goal.

Maradona is a God in Naples, 2 Serie A titles with a not so fashionable club like Napoli isn't to be sniffed at, at a time when Serie A was the top league in the World.I see the point you make but I dont think its stacks up against over 500 goals for one club. Personally I think Messi at Barca is better than Maradona anywhere but it is surely international level we are discussing and I would argue there is no comparison; Messi doesnt look interested half the time

It seemed like to me that the Argentina team was trying to get their Manager sacked tonight, and players like Messi being above the Manager unofficially at the team is probably not helping matters.
Imo Messi didn't look like he was gonna score even if the game was carried over to the next day, but because of his brand name, they wouldn't take him off which was a costly move imo.
Brother Leon
21-06-2018, 08:24 PM
No sympathy for Messi. The supposed GOAT should lead Aguero,Di Maria,Dybala and Higuain to a World Cup. Never mind a first round exit.
Give CR7 that squad and he wins the lot. Don’t @ me.
it's clear that all is not well with the players or the manager. They just never played as a team. I just hope iceland can get a result tomorrow, they deserve to be in the next phase

Personally I think Messi at Barca is better than Maradona anywhere but it is surely international level we are discussing and I would argue there is no comparison; Messi doesnt look interested half the timeTaking all the stats and honours away and just purely based of football ability, Maradona is better.

SO PROUD of Nigeria! Super Eagles for life!!!! :)
One of the announcers said all Nigeria needs to do to go to the next round is to score at least one goal against Argentina in Tuesday, but I don't know if his word is true
I think this could be a huge turn around for Nigeria and they've regained their confidence, especially after their 2-0 defeat to Croatia

Iceland are like Birmimgham City FC, they don't like being the favourites to win the game, and that made them lose composure against Nigeria.
Now they're the underdogs again against Croatia, they have beaten them in the past if I'm not mistaken so I see this next game being in their element.
And **** knows what will happen in that Nigeria vs Argentina game.

Man, they've improved so much in such a short time. They struggled in the WC qualifications just months ago and now they're turning into dark horses of this cup.
