random group this one, unpredictable af
i think Colombia has got best chances of surviving this group, with their awesome back Santiago Arias

Potentially this could be a tight and even four way battle to get to the knock out stage.
In the end i think Poland and Colombia will get the top 2 with Senegal giving them hell, but end up failing in the end and finishing in 3rd place. Poland and Colombia battle for the first with Poland end up on the pole just before Colombia cause Lewandowski.
Japan will try their hardest against all the other 3, but this time it won“t be enough and they“ll finish 4th with either 1 or 2 ties.

What a horrible start for Colombia.
Blatant handball leading to a straight red card and a PK. Japan leads 1-0 by a goal made in the 6th minute.

It will be hard for Colombia to come back from this. They're down to ten men

can't blame him for trying, but with goal line technology and a couple of billion watching he was pushing his luck just a bit

I'm disgusted in Poland today, not only did they kill my bet which is bad enough, they gave out one of the most half hearted performances that I've seen in this World Cup so far, clearly they don't care about their fans or have any pride whatsoever to have played like that against any team.
And well done to Senegal and unlike Poland they actually put in some effort to win the match.

Senegal and Japan tie the game 2-2. Wow.
One of Poland and Colombia could be out the World Cup, if one of them wins. A tie will keep them both in the running.
Everyone could end up having 4 points at the end.

That is not necessarily the case.
Senegal have an ex-Birmingham City player as Manager who installs a never say die attitude, on top of N'Doye who also has played under that motto last season in the Championship, and they do genuinely have one world class player in Mane.
And Japan's team has proven time and time again that they can compete with most teams at the big stage, they also have decent players such as Kagawa, Okazaki, Osako, and Inui who can cause England and Belgium problems, the only major weakness that Japan has is the wildly inconsistent Goalkeeper.
England and Belgium would be the favourites to win those games, but they'd be alot tighter than people think.

Colombia only had bad luck against Japan, having to play with 10 man so early in the match

i think on paper Japan has the easier match vs Poland
for Senegal a draw is enough for them to go through

hoping whatever happens we manage to scramble a fixture against Japan in the next round, will be a comfortable opponent for us.

it will be a easy opponent for England anyway :fan:
i think a 5-0 win for england is a possibility

The commentators on Japan - Poland are totally confused. Saying Japan are going out if it stays the same way.
Lawrenson and the other guy.
Typical Lawro, total moron

He doesn't know how goal-line technology works either. Was saying that they would check on VAR if it crossed the line.
Goal-line technology has been in the game for years.
James
28-06-2018, 03:44 PM
Now Lawrenson is complaining about the qualification rule because he got it wrong.
Calderyon

They are actually tied.
Senegal has a better goal difference so they would advance if thing stay this way.

no more african countries then  :bawling: :bawling:
Senegal and Nigeria both deserved to go through imo, very tough to take
I reckon we will turn over either Columbia or Japan without too much trouble
I think the japanese team is the weakest to go through
Calderyon
28-06-2018, 03:58 PM
Senegal vs Colombia 0-1
Japan vs Poland 0-1
Colombia tops the group with 6 points and Japan is second with equal points and goals difference with Senegal, but their fair play points are better than Senegal (-4 against -6)
Shaun
28-06-2018, 04:01 PM
For all the talk we've heard this week about "should England throw the match to get an easier route?" we're now offered the choice of Colombia or Japan in the next round. I know who I'd rather face
Calderyon
28-06-2018, 04:02 PM
They should just have a penalty kick tie break the off day. Whoever wins it, goes through.
Mystic Mock
28-06-2018, 04:03 PM
Thank god that Poland are out as it means that my bet won't constantly be killed by the bastards.:joker:
I have to say though how convenient that Japan's lifeless performance today where they stopped doing anything positive still ends up seeing them go through and Poland finally picking up three points.
If I didn't know any better I'd think that these results today were arranged in advance.
Japan a disgrace with those antics, ridiculously risky when they know Senegal would be throwing the kitchen sink at it
Calderyon

In a tactical sense, England should really consider throwing tonights match. Getting Japan and Sweden/Switzerland is much better than Colombia and Brazil/Mexico.
just seen the end of the japan game and it was completely ridiculous. No attempt to play the game and japan go through on fair play? .... fair play my arse :fist:

Calderyon
28-06-2018, 04:20 PM
If England win, they will get a much easier opponent in the knock outs, but a much harder opponent in the quarters.
If England lose, they will get a moderately hard opponent in the knock outs, but an easier opponent on the quarters.
