I think its ****ing disgusting how people are dneied treatments that work. Cannabis works perfectly for my illness, seriously I am pretty much normal after smoking a few joints, my pain almost disappears completely and dope works much better than the morphine I am given by my GP for sure. But...they are not allowed to prescribe me it. And although I could get it myself, I don't want to smoke it constantly when I have kids. I could be given the tablet form or something but nope, they prefer to have me hooked on opiates :umm2: I could also make brownies or something too but then I would put on even more weight as I would have to be eating them all the time. I also don't want to be 'stoned', I hate it, I think tablets would not make me this way too? So basically, if the Government stopped being tits and withholding treatment that clearly works, I could have a 'normal' life.

I don't understand why cannabis is banned and alcohol isn't. I never met anyone who smoked a spliff then wanted a fight. And it's medicinal benefits are clear. There's no excuse for it not being prescribed if it works.

I told her I had had maybe 20 spliffs in the past few years but when I did they helped a lot (and it was only ever when at my mothers so someone was there to watch kids anyway) and yeah, she took the fact that i want to get myself out of pain to be me being a bad mother. She also said I had a problem with alcohol, as I said that when my painkillers run out, if I don't have the kids (or if someone else is there to watch them) I have been known to self-medicate with alcohol, as I want to avoid going to A&E when I get bad and I know theres a chance I can make it more bearable myself. This apparently makes me an alcoholic

I understand where you are coming from, Vicky. Doctors don't take chronic pain seriously enough imo, because it's not something they can see. They only know based on how we tell them we feel, and that's enough to malign patients along with other "chronic complainers". I lived it myself for a long time, so you are preaching to a member of the choir here.

I think when we are massive amounts of pain, we are more likely to "abuse" (using that very loosely here) just about anything to make the pain cycles end (or break temporarily)... especially when it is chronic, it is utterly exhausting and almost maddening. Playing the pain game is not really a means to a fulfilling life either... so I think if cannabis helps, those people should be allowed to be prescribed for it with medical purposes. If it resolves it, it not only gives back the life of the patient, but gives their life back to their families/loved ones, so I don't see it as a "selfish" cause at all... when I was my worst pain, it felt like I was a totally different person, that at least half of me was in some other place, disconnected and not really "present" at all.

Anyway, don't delete your posts. They are incredibly relevant here I think.

I think it's disgusting in this day and age that the massive medical benefits of cannabis are still overlooked.

It should be legalised full stop anyway. Completely harmless (unless tampered with - which is why it should be legalised and taken out of black markets anyway).

The law is an ass. As usual the wrong people are persecuted by those taking the letter of the law too seriously. I agree that alcohol is worse. A blind eye should always be used for medicinal use.

Such laws should not exist. Cannabis has been proven to have so much benefit to the health of some people. It should be allowed, for people it would help.

I know this is a bit conspiracy theory, but I have thought for a while that the reason its 'banned' is because the big pharmacy companies who make billions from selling 'painkillers' and such would lose a ****load of money. I mean, even stuff like Parkinsons can be helped a lot by cannabis. My uncle would shake like **** constantly, but we gave him a brownie that my dad made and for around an hour, he did not shake at all. Cannabis is amazing for some illnesses, and its vile that its banned.

Until our drug laws are changed
with Proper Safe Cannabis meds

I watched this on the morning show, the mother was debating trying to raise awareness for using cannabis for medical reasons and she was fighting to get her son the treatment he needed . It clearly was helping him so pretty stupid for them to deny him his medication in the first place :nono:.

Problem we have is despite the health benefits of cannabis , there's always people abusing it and taking it just to get high :bored: .

In oil form it eases pain and helps people ,but there's still some of it
that's still illegal to get .

Smoking it has no health benefits , but being used as a herbal remedy actually helps people.

I remember when I worked a retail job, one of my coworkers obviously did the weed. He would come to work, his eyes were bloodshot and he was like "Oh...." about every revelation and issue brought to him by customers. I don't like the idea of its usage in the workplace... :laugh: for that reason

However, I've never used cannabis so I don't know how long that effect lasts, but maybe it can be done on break and if it's a small productivity hit for a little while, but gives the medical effects for much longer, that would be fine.

But yeah, smoking it has huge benefits. For pain at least. Can't speak about other illnesses personally. But smoking a splff or two works better for me than morphine does.

And whatever drugs are around, people will abuse them. FFS you can abuse anti-nausea medication. Is this a reason for that to be banned?

People who SMOKE weed usually do it to get high or to they smoke it for the sake of it , even if people think it's helping it's just making them light headed with side effects .

Cannabis OIL can be bought from some shops, that has more health benefits .
Cannabis isn't meant to be smoked and the smell of it being inhaled is like toxic waste, how is that good !? :yuk:

So when it comes to legalizing it ,I only agree with it being taken as medicine or in oil form and herbal bath and drink form as those have the proper useful benefits .
