View Full Version : Do you answer your phone?
All in the title tbh...
I barely answer my phone, if its an unknown number I instantly block it.
When its a number I know I normally let it go to answer machine then call back when I can be bothered lol if its one of my family like a sibling they are so used to me ignoring the phone that they text after it and say 'answer the bloody phone' [emoji23]
Only people that do get answered straight away is my husband, bosses or my dads doctors
Oh and the house phone is answered even less its whats made me create this thread, I saw a message display on my house phone last night when I got home and when I checked it it was from March [emoji23]

If it's a private number I respect the callers privacy and don't answer. If its a number I don't know I google it, then block it. My dad only ever one bells me anyway so I ring him back when I see him. Mist of my other communication with.people is done via messenger and whatsapp so I'm quite quick with them. If its a friend ringing rather than message I usually answer as it would normally be important.....or some scandal than they don't want to put on a message lol

Never if it is blocked or a random number.
I tend to not bother answering the house phone either, the calls are never for me and we have 4 handsets around the house so someone else is bound to be by one who the call is for

If I’m really occupied, then I’m not going to pick the phone up, and call them later if I think they are important, the same formula for my free time as well...
Will never answer anyone with an “Unknown” caller ID...

If I hear it I do, but I always have it on silent and never feel the vibrations, so I usually miss it

If it's a known number or a local number then yes. Unknown numbers nah. It's usually a robot telling me that I've been in a car crash.
The house phone is rarely even plugged in, we only really have a land-line for broadband .

Mobile is stuck in the back of a drawer somewhere.
House phone has a blocker on so I tend not to get unwelcome calls.
Answer it if it's in reach.

Absolutely not i actually get very very anxious on the phone even when im talking to a family member so when its someone trying to sell me insurance or catch me up on a late paid bill i almost puke
I answer the house phone.
If it’s my phone I rarely answer unless it’s a close friend or my mum/dad.

Rarely answer unless I know who it is, they can leave a message if they want me

I only use my mobile for work. I use the landline at home because I don't get a signal where I live, so the decision is taken out of my hands. I hate chatting on the phone anyway.

I'm annoyed when I do something and it rings and interrupts me but I do answer it.

Not really.
I either miss it because my phone is on silent or if I see it, I wait for them to leave a message and if it's important I'll ring them back. If not, I text them when I can.

Never answer the house phone. Never answer unknown numbers and barely answer to family/friends. Just text like normal people!

Yes, I'm always the one calling and getting ignored  I hate texting and most of the time if I get a text from someone I'll try and call them back before texting them back, unless it makes sense just to send a quick message about something. I don't know why people prefer to have written conversations rather than spoken ones it really bugs me actually

I am so ****ing ignorant, even when its people I know I ignore half the time. I only ever answer my dad/mam/father in law consistently. I never answer witheld.
When the housephone rings I have a moment of panic..even if I am expecting a call, as I cannot tell who it is and I have an internal battle with myself about answering it :D

Depends, I get a bit of work through a supply agency, and if it's an unknown number it could be them, but if it's past 9/I CBA/weekend/holidays I'll ignore unknown numbers.

My sister in law rings me at 9.30 in the evening, even when the kids were little and I asked her not as the landline would sometimes wake them, and also I think if someone rings at that time of night there is something wrong, and I'm tired or watching something on TV, I have asked her time and time and again not to ring at this time, but she still does it so half the time I don't answer the phone, then I ring her back the next day and she says something like oh I rang you last night...and I say yes I heard the phone but I was tired and didn't feel like talking and she still does it …
