Huntress Tess Thompson Talley is standing her ground while facing backlash for shooting a black giraffe on a recent hunt in Africa.

Talley, who is from Kentucky, appeared in a post-hunt photo showing herself, her rifle, and the giraffe. The Sun reports that she captioned the photo,

“Prayers for my once in a lifetime dream hunt came true today!

Spotted this rare black giraffe bull and stalked him for quite a while. I knew it was the one.”

She added, “He was over 18 years old, 4,000 lbs and was blessed to be able to get 2,000 lbs of meat from him.”

But considering how proud she was to have killed such a creature and then to post her "reward" all over social media... I highly doubt that's a primary drive for her. ...sadly these hunters are not ‘one man bands’ and sums of money exchange hands in support of these killings or to enable them...and that really won’t change no matter how much I Would like it to...’money talks’ and that’s a fact and with game hunting, money kills beautiful creatures....even a universal hunting ban with very harsh prison sentences enforced by all countries wouldn’t be the solution as it would be impossible to enforce I think...very sad that human species devote so much focus with research etc into ‘preserving’ and yet can still do things like this which contributes to wiping out whole species...:sad:...
