sadly it's irelavant what May's cabinet finally agree on..We in the EU will not agree to it ..so whilstt it's cute that you goverment finaly came to an ageement .......not a chance that the other 27 countries will accept that.....when I say sadly I mean on the behalf of the other 27 countries
It's getting quite nasty now IMO ....that Irish people are told by some Brexiters to respect their demcocratic vote but ignore the Belfast agreement which was also a democratic vote

Important to note that they are making "no deal" preparations
here's hoping the soft brexit is passed.

Well that's all irrelevant now, they'll take back the devolved powers, whats more we'll now need a hard border as no free trade will necessitate one.

Maybe, maybe not.
Got to admire May, I'm amazed she's managed to rally the cabinet around this

Kizzy the EU want this to be brought to a close ...Today was nothing more than the conserviteves trying to show unity amongst themseleves ....the fact that we here in Ireland can hear talking about complteley ignoring The Belfast agreement and "Call the Irish bluff " shows me democrcy only suit's them them when it agrees with them...
What a strange world we live in 2018

Just pointing out that Barnier was suggesting the EU was open to some sort of compromise. Previously he had been very hostile to any constructive negotiations. If any such proposal is not beneficial for us than a hard Brexit is substantially preferable to staying in the EU for me.

Well that's simply not true Brillo
The EU have always been open to compromise but from what they are talking about today is they want part of ECB and CU but are not willing to move on FOM...If you think a h hard Brexit is benificiall to you...then I think you are wrong...but I guess time will tell.....When are those that voted Brexit in your country agree with Teresa May and realise that Brexit means Brexit
On a side note Arlene foster and the rest of the DUP must be pulling their hair out knowing that they propped up the conservitaves and yet they have no say say in what is being decided for them......Oh well

Good luck today....I think you will beat Sweden in the 90 mins .....I think Russia will also beat Croatia but that might go to ET or maybe even penalities....either way enjoy
i will keep saying this because it's true. In the general scheme of things it doesnt matter what we sign up to and agree on at this point because we can always change the terms at a later point in time. This is only possible because we are leaving the EU, and that will happen regardless of any arrangement next March

Too true Kirk, most of us would have thrown the towel in long before now, nothing will ever be right for everyone, but I do think she is doing a good job with the people she has who are obstructive.

Mays back was to the wall, she knew she had to sort things quickly, or she would be gone and Rees-Hogg would be moving into number 10

I know, this was nothing but a power grab from the get go. I'm glad you have the EU fighting your corner because the UK govt certainly won't.

I think you have to admire her backbone for getting some sort of agreement but I can't say I am happy with May's version of Brexit. I think the voters are being shafted by the pro remain camp.
I don't think she will be challenged because I don't think any of the other contenders really want to be the PM remembered for the Brexit deal. She's a scapegoat either way.
I think the EU may bite her hand off in eagerness for this deal. Merkel has enough trouble at home and will want to get Brexit quietly done.

That's silly.
The Leave voters are being shafted for voting for a wish washy Tory government with a habit of flip flopping on issues. When May took power, she said she wouldn't call an election but she did, she said she was going to push for a hard brexit and it looks like she's settled for a soft deal instead. People ignored how weak her government was in favour of buying her bull****.
I hope that they aren't likely to get the deal they want serves as a lesson for leaver voters to be more informed when it comes to voting in elections. Not that I expect them to break a habit of a lifetime though, there's always someone else to blame after all.

Always remember that we made the choice of not only leaving the EU but deciding who would oversee it with the election.

I wouldn't know, I didn't vote for the current government. But thanks for calling me names, I'm sure it's always a pleasure.
I don't need a lesson and was fully informed thank you. Perhaps you should take on board your own lectures and learn a little.
With so many differences of opinion within political parties and across the population, there could only ever be a compromise solution. Voting leave didn't dictate any terms of us leaving, and no matter what we do, we still have to trade with other countries and agree common rules for that trade. Leaving the EU doesn't change that, we still need agreements if we wish to trade.
It will take decades for the post EU framework to develop and diverge from the EU norms, and that's how it should be.

Can you point out to me where I called you any names? I've looked over my posts yet I can't see a single example of namecalling?
I don't understand why you're being so hostile tbh.

Not had much good to say about May but a compromised Brexit deal tries better to take into account the 100% to unite, not just fragments of the 52%

As long as we get to rule ourselves I am quite happy.
We should be able to control border movement better.
Who knows where we will end up with trade deals, it's not just up to us.
Hopefully the EU will be up for compromise as well.

We will get most of what we wanted and the most important to many. You always ask for more and meet in the middle. Maybe you need to be more informed about compromise.
