I think its a bit gross that it exists at all, the concept of buying someones consent is quite vile to be tbh. However I wouldn't like to see the prostitutes penalized for it. I am a huge fan of the Nordic model though, basically criminalizing the punters for being gross bastards.

Also far too many prostitutes are forced into it and such that it should not be 'normalized' at all IMO. Yes, some chose it for themselves for the easy cash..but still The concept of buying sex just weirds me out so much.

I agree it exists and has always existed... So protections and laws should be put into place for those involved in the trade. Root out those who are forcing women and young children to sell their bodies... and allow women who are doing it as their trade to have the law and health care on their side instead of against them.
The problems with it steam from it being illegal. But since it has existed, and will always exist, it's time society got it's head out of the sand and treated it as a profession... and the people involved in it as human beings.

I don't necessarily agree with it, the thought of someone having to sell their body doesn't quite sit well with me BUT I agree that it will always happen and would like to see it legalised to give the workers rights and hopefully drive some of the pimps out of business by having to legitimise it, getting proper regular health and sexual health checks and just making it a safer industry for those who do it

I believe it should be legalised, controlled and regulated.

Prostitution will always exist but if you legalise it, you can employ safety standards and regulations that make it difficult for pimps to abuse the workers or for sexual slavery to be a thing. It can be made safe for the workers. I don't think there is really an argument for not legalising it.

I can't agree with prostitution, I understand people wanting more safety and regulations but it's one of the most dangerous and oldest "professions" , how do you police it?? .

Right now the policy is basically to look the other way... but that doesn't help any of those who chose it as a profession or are forced into it. If the laws legalized and allowed for woman to bring it off street corners and into safe established places... You would see a reduction in pimps and underage exploitation.

Because try telling a sicko pimp that a 13 year old prostitute isnt the same as a 23 year old prostitute ! . They don't care they'll still abuse and exploit them.

And the adult prostitutes will still be in danger as well.

I think people turn the other way as most of them don't want to see it , we all know it happens . Also they don't want their kids exposed to it .

Maybe there should be a different attitude toward it and obviously more safety protection , but It just seems bizarre to me when for e.g places like Holland has women in Windows posing attracting punters ,I know they're more open about it but I find it weird.

I have walked with them an talked to them as they chose to stay in the trade or to leave it. What I am trying to get across is illigalization of it as a trade has fueled the ability for exploitation of minors and those who are forced into it due to low circumstances or addiction. Cracking down on those exploited woman and police hauling them in and calling them the criminals does not help them survive or get out. The laws as they stand prevent the police from being a help to these women... and prevent the woman from having help. It's been around since the beginning of time and all societies that it is illegal in have the worst circumstances for them.

Well what about places where women are in Window shops advertising their " services" where people walk the streets, I suppose on the one hand it's in the public domain and the owner of the brothel has better chance of protecting the women.

I would support the legalisation of prostitution. I would like to see the women in safer environments, regular health checks. no one hanging about on street corners for every pervert with a car to target... So long as the women are not coerced and are treated well, I have no problem with it at all.
