Last 3 winners have been Germany, Spain and Italy. If France win might as well be the EU Cup! Come on England! If not, then you can do this Croatia!

Russia is in Europe though, well part of it but I'd always have answered Europe if someone asked which continent it was in

Kazakhstan is not recognised in europe outside of sports

true shame it is, Kazakhstan has been broadcasting Eurovision for the last few years now, and they had been re-watching other past contests as well

they are quite devoted to this, as well as Turkvision where they participate also for quite a lot of years now

 as for sports well Zarina Diyas is a good tennis player for them, and football they have 2 teams in champions league qualifying rounds, and 2 in Europa league qualifying rounds

If only they had VAR back then :fist: although I feel like they wouldn't have used it anyway, France was the preferred team to get through I think :idc:

I was having a chat about this with my Brother today, it's shocking at how poor the other continents are at Football compared to Europe on average.

All the best players in the world now tend to play in europe because that's where the money is. As a consequence, everyone is familiar with their style of play and can learn to deal with it. Similarly, the difference between what traditionally would have been weaker countries and the big guns is now much smaller, so games are much closer with more unexpected results.

Also, it disproves the argument about the english/scottish leagues suffering from having so many foreign players .... because those foreign countries arent doing any better
