View Full Version : Quitting smoking
I realllly need to quit smoking for gd bc it's getting out of hand
Over the last few years it's just escalated to the point I was smoking around 6 a day at points in the lead up to my exams this summer. I just find it sooo hard to bin the habit for good like I've not smoked since yesterday afternoon and I aaa foaming at the mouth earlier thinking about a cigarette Jesus

I quit on december 31st last year and it’s honestly not that hard?? Like after a few days the cravings aren’t as bad and once you get past the first few weeks you don’t even notice
I actually had a single drag off a cig a few weeks ago just to see what it was like after 150+ days smoke-free and i didn’t even like it :’) i didn’t absolutely hate it but it didn’t make me want to have more

I think for me it's more mental like in certain situations I just NEED one and I can quit for like a week or two and then I just cave again

Yeah after 2 weeks most of the physical addiction is long gone, its the habit you have to break. I still carry a bic pen top in my pocket at all times and.just hold it if I feel the need for a cig. Its been 6 years since I quit a 20+ a day habit and still sometimes I could kill for one but that feeling soon passes...

6 A day shouldn't be that hard to get off.
Imo the easiest way to get off Smoking would be to smoke one less each day until you eventually don't smoke any.

Yeah - you just need to ease a little more gently. For 6 a day I'd probably reccoment cutting one out every 2-4 days, anything more and probably a week.

I've been on the e-cig for a week now and it's going really well, think I might actually quite this time! :amazed: I'm using the Aspire Zelos so I'd recommend that if you're looking to try one. Go into an ecig shop or something and tell them how many you smoke and they'll recommend what's best for you (there's loads of variations of wattage and how many mg's for the liquid etc, it's all really confusing lol, but they'll advise you what'll be best). Good luck with it!

Not a smoker myself, never have been and never will, but good luck
My boss smokes and at times when he stands close (or even not that close) it just reeks and disgusting.
I believe that with enough determination you can get it out of the way.
Okay ladies I am liking for recommendations. I’ve been a Marlboro type but like the amount I smoke daily and pack prices are hiking up so I need a cheaper alternative. What cigarettes do you smoke and how much do they cost?

So we just sat around in the sun really drinking Dark Fruits, doing balloons and smoking, slagged off the girls and had a takeaway with Love Island. Juicy. We have snapped some footage but idk if I wanna upload it!

Stopping smoking is easy, but, you need to really want to stop otherwise it will never be successful.

I attempted to stop so many times since this was made. Still makes me instantly balloon..even though I dont actually seem to eat anymore, its a mystery! So, prefer to smoke than be even bloody more overweight

Costs next to nowt these days, with all the backy people competing with each other, plus just bougfht a few thousand from lanzarote for like..a quid a box
My mothers just stopped, after smoking for 35 years. She said she would once she retired, just she couldnt do it bewfore retiring as she thought she might end up killing some of her patients if she didnt smpke to chill out sometimes! Thats another problem, my temper is really really bad without smoking, when I smoke, I just **** off outside for 5 mins to chill when people are doing my head in

I thought they were like 8 quid a packet D: I suppose if you roll your own its not too bad price wise
Vicky.

We can get 50g of backy for 6 quid, go through about one and a half packs per week between me and gav. So its like 9 quid a week ish.
But as i said, have loads of tabs from lanzarote recently to (between 12 euro and 18 for 200). Crapping myself throughcustoms mind

your metabolism slows down, your heart rate drops, your blood pressure goes down, and your stomach isn't contracted due to nicotine. Those things alone will make you put on weight, even if you don't eat more, and you do eat more, to take your mind off it and because food starts tasting delicious because your taste buds start to recover
I smoked 30 a day for 35 years, stopped and never looked back ... and now i'm one of those superior non smokers :smug:

Vaping is a good stepping stone for most (if you use it in the same was as cigs, as in taking 6 vape breaks a day, and not vaping anywhere because you can). When you want to give up that too you can carry on vaping nicotine-free vape juice.
Vicky.
08-04-2019, 03:15 PM
There are actually some vapes that i like, the blue slush one is what helped last time. But as I said, put on a ridiculous amount of weight in a very short space of time so went back to the smoking.
Doesn't help that given so many people are successfully stopping by using vapes, the Government **** themselves as tobacco is not bringing in as much profit...so now vaping indoors is banned and must be treat exactly the same as smoking, obviously hoping people just go back to the cigs
