What i'm getting at is they were still regular-ish in the sense the public didn't really know who they were yet still invested 8 weeks in them. Don't get me wrong the LI cast sucked imo there was no diversity but they were essentially normal people and not ex pornstars or a relative of a member of the royal family paid up to a million to be on the show...Its hard to like those kind of people hence no one tuning in to watch them.


If BB spent the time and effort on the regular series to get a diverse cast like say bb3,5,7 even BB14 had they could be onto a winner. The public is clearly bored of Celebs now as the last few years have shown.

I said "-ish"...Just look who won a dude with a dad bod and Dani who is in no way a looker when you pit her against the rest of the cast this year hence the public went for the most normal of the group. You get what I mean in terms of casting BB used to be great but now they are literally paying to get ex islanders and trash from the media in the house and viewers are bored of it.

She was hardly a reality star she was on a small show once and even though her dad is famous she was actually a genuine girl...Like I said though I thought the cast sucked in general and BB has been great at getting a diverse interesting group in previous years that's their strength over other reality shows like LI, EOTB which are pretty much all the same they really need to focus on that this year over the people they think will bring in viewers because they have x amount of Instagram followers or putting priority on CBB yet again.

...Though even as im saying this I know ill still be hooked on CBB come launch night :p

Im not whining I said I was looking forward to CBB im just stating that civilian BB should have taken priority over CBB and Channel 5 should have faith in the show and not shy away by rescheduling the whole franchise to avoid LI then cast members from the same show they were avoiding to get ratings its embarrassing.

Im totally on topic so shut your gash :) Like I said I am still looking forward to CBB but like most of the die hard fans on here I wish it was the regular series on over it and maybe say an ultimate BB for the last 4 weeks with celebs and regular housemates.

The reason LI is a hit in 2018 is because people idolise glamorous insta-esque models/celebs in this superficial social-media era we live in, and that's exactly what LI offers. Yeah I worded that wrong when I said "real" but BB has tried the whole Insta thing when they moved to Channel 5 in 2011 and everyone bar Aaron was under 30 and it didn't work....They kept casting models and ex reality tv stars and not surprisingly still didn't work.

BB is tricky as **** they tried to be some young cool show and alienated its loyal fanbase who have switched off in droves then in January went a bit to high brow (by channel 5 standards anyway) to get the old viewers back and it flopped again.

What they need to do is get interesting housemates who have opposing opinions and the rest takes care of itself...Sounds simple but Channel 5 rarely get it right.

Its likely to be 3 or 4 seeing as we don't get a house tour these days and theres roughly 16 housemates making it 4 per every half hour plus the start of the show really needs to grab the viewer hence needing outrageous vt's.

Corrie is pulling in up to 8 million and soaps tend to attract the same type of viewer BB does.

Its a stupid decision imo they cant afford to take risks at this point.

Channel 5 haven't even confirmed its the last CBB and tbh I think the fact that its not being promoted as the last ever and instead has the tabloids just reporting the show has been cancelled kind of puts it in peoples minds that the show is dead before its even started...Not exactly the publicity a show needs.

Channel 4 were honest about it being cancelled and celebrated it hence the spike in viewers but 5 don't even know if they are actually scrapping it they are just waiting to see if it gets viewers

As for overshadowing CBB has been that way for years now... It consistently pulls in higher ratings, superior storylines, and better casting... That’s not to say a renewed focus on the civilian version isn’t warranted...

I really fail to see where you’re going with this... Promting BB as having been cancelled would be disastrous for Channel 5 if they intend on keeping it pending the results of this next series... That said the strategy of keeping fans guessing seems to be working as it’s created a lot of chatter and speculation as to where the series might be going... who still watchest tv things at the right time... I always use virgin to pre-record the show then I start watching the show on delay so that I can rewind through the adverts and dont have to watch them...
