If it's tidy and held to the same standards as womens hair in BA what's wrong with it?

I want to be on his side, its a stupid rule... but I feel like he signed the contract that said men can only wear their hair in a ponytail if it is to support dreadlocks.

Depends on if the policy was in place when he took the job, or was brought in later. If it was in the T&C when he started work he really doesn't have a leg to stand on. If it was previously OK and they've changed the rules, then he has a legitimate complaint.

Definitely not fair IMO

As for how it looks... Eh I've never tried a man bun before but one of my best friends has pretty recently switched to a man bun hair style and personally I think it fits him. It could be a good look. Like Tyler in this BBUS season rocks the man bun well :clap1: I don't like this guy's man bun specifically though.

I also think it looks better with shorter hair / smaller man bun overall but anyway point is they should let him rock the bun!

...’he doesn’t have a leg to stand on’..(..sorry I’m having trouble doing that bold thing..)...but does he have a bun to wear while he’s not standing on that leg though, TS...surely it shouldn’t matter what the original policy was when he joined the airline..because that policy should have been updated in equality...if female staff can wear buns to keep their hair back when working then surely males should equally be allowed the same..?...it’s a bit like the shoes/heel thing that women have been asked to wear heels but males haven’t...and it has to be one rule for all in these things..?...otherwise it is sexist if that doesn’t apply...

Irrespective of any moral or legal arguments, the guy looks a prize prat - and I agree with TwoSugars about that dandruff.

If females are allowed buns, this guy should be, that said it doesn't look very clean so that was probably the issue more than his man bun :omgno:

I thought this thread was about something entirely different and possibly firm.

He should be able to wear his hair how he likes as long as it's safe around machinery etc, no matter how daft he looks.

Well, true, I wouldn't agree with their initial policy if it stated that women ARE allowed buns but men are not. Just if it said "no buns, ponytails only" full stop.

When I first started where I am now, men had to wear shirt + tie whilst women just had a blouse / shirt... which sort of pissed me off. Not the tie so much as the fact that we also had to have the shirt buttoned right to the top (which I can't stand, even in formal dress I leave my top button loose :umm2: ) whereas women were allowed to have the top button or even top two buttons undone :fist:. Injustice everywhere.

Making the accusation that my distaste for the modern man buns look is racist. Every type of race of man is currently wearing it as a fashion... not due to their race or religion.

So yeah... you are having a good stretch with that reach.

And like I give two ****s where you rank me as well lol

Yeah it is sexist if women are allowed to have that hairstyle (which I presume they are)

Air crew have to keep up a standard of clean and neat. If the pictures in the article are anything to go by then he fails. It looks gross.
