Channel 5 must be pissed at this news its gonna be on ITVbe and I believe it runs for 6 weeks?

So much for BB delaying their series not to clash with Love Island.

This could be a big problem especially as LI Australia was filthy as fook and full of drama.

I don't think it'll be a problem, I can't see more than 500k people watching it (if that) unfortunately tbh

Plus it looks like it's gonna be scheduled from 11pm which is a waste but would totally avoid CBB

Also it says on Erins Instagram that it starts on the 13th? So gets a head start on CBB.

I think it could be a surprise hit.

But lets hope not I mean when E4 aired BBUS on the back of BBUK which was hitting the high millions then the US version flopped here.

11pm avoids CBB completely so C5 have nothing to worry about

Only thing C5 have to worry about is Saturday when CBB/BB will be on at 10:30 due to football, but then 5Star show the episode earlier on

CH5 no longer have the rights for the football

Just checked the schedule and yeah it does air at 11pm the only time it will dent the show is on a Saturday when CBB stupidly schedule it at 10:30 and obviously catchup on the finale which would overlap.

Though theres no reason for ITVbe to move it from 11pm to 9pm if its doing well.

CBB airs at 9pm-10pm every night except 10pm on Saturdays so they’ll never clash.

They will on +1 no schedule has been set for Saturdays yet as far as im aware I just assumed it would be at 10:30 again like previous years.

That comparison is like apples and oranges... The US format was drastically different where as LI AU follows exactly the same format LI UK does...

Its really not...BBUS had a different game but it had the BB brand behind it.

The fact that LI Australia is exactly the same though confirms my concern of it being competition for CBB/BB even if its not scheduled at the same timeslot people are missing Love Island and would probably tune in to that over CBB/BB as who can be bothered to commit to 2 reality shows for the next 3 months?

With most viewers its one or the other.

It was well established that BBUS followed a different format than the UK... So I have no doubt that the format played a massive role in why it didn't preform well... I was a somewhat active member on the official C4 BB forums in 2003/2004 and BBUS was rarely if ever talked about in a positive manner... Regardless of having the BB name behind it the idea of BBUS and BBUK being in the same league was a foreign concept to many viewers... To a certain degree it still is...

Also I never said that LI AU couldn't be a threat to BB... Just that comparing C4's lack of success airing BBUS to ITV airing LI AU is like comparing apples to oranges...

I dont think more than a few hundred thousand diehards in the UK are gonna follow LI Australia, if that. Because people in this forum are so dedicated to their shows its easy to project that type of commitment to the general public, but even though UK LI is a huge hit one has to be pretty serious about the brand to sign up for a subsequent season of AU LI. Despite the fact that they speak English, it still is a foreign country, ie not the UK. I think ITV knows that it has limited potential or else they would actually have made a harder push to dent BB with it, scheduling it on ITV2 and/or at a prime hour like 9 or 10 PM.

If the show can't survive against a foreign version of love island then surely its time to give it a break

In a surprising turn of events I didn’t like the first episode but my mam LOVED it despite not being a fan of our Love Island

John James just looks odd aswell apparently though its a really dramatic season. Ii would give it a go but with CBB and BB taking up my next 3 months of reality tv I cant be arsed.

tbf 120k is pretty good for a foreign version of the franchise which already aired at a ****ty timeslot.

but yeah, no threat to BB
