Big Brother comes across hypocritical ….

for giving Rodrigo a final warning for using the n-word
(because it would cause offence)

…. but then choosing to air Rodrigo saying it many times

so Big Brother aired something they knew would cause offence
whilst thinking they are taking the moral high ground

Epic.

Yes because if they didn't show it, and it then came out later that he received a warning for racist remarks people would complain that big brother hid this from us, or would probably suggest Big Brother are trying to protect Rodrigo/ are being biased towards him.

There was a very clear warning before it

Yeah I missed that, I walked out of the room. But even then, in the US they bleep out so much. I know in the UK they show more nudity, but I'm still surprised they would allow a racial slur to air...

I remember the first time I turned on the C5 live feed, was literally during an animal birth and they were shoving their arm inside a cow/whatever... that was unexpected :joker:

:suspect: So Rodrigo can stay in the house and just get a warning TWICE for using the N word? is BB on crack this year? . They must want Plastic face in the final .

Didn't previous hm's get removed in the past for sexist language and homophobic slurs?? wow the inconsistency of the BB rules

He didn't get a warning twice, he said it twice and got a formal and final warning afterwards.

Should have been removed tbh, massive inconsistency on BB's part.

Emily Parr (BB8) : says n word once, removed immediately

Rodrigo Alves : says n word twice, receives warning

Has BB softened it's stance on racist language ?

I don’t know why Emily keeps being mentioned - that was straight after the race row and was a knee jerk reaction.

Here's the clip of Emily saying it

Was she being deliberately insulting or, like Rodrigo, was she saying it in a street slang/hip hop kinda way?

Exactly, I completely agree

I don't get why people are comparing the two.

I agree Rodrigo shouldn't have said it, but he didn't say it maliciously, didn't offend anyone (I'm not even sure anybody even noticed tbh), so a warning is fine.

Emily on the other hand actually (iirc since it's been a while) actually called Charley the N word, albeit as a joke. Plus it was directly after the CBB5 race row so they had no choice. Two very different circumstances

Lol Charley said at first that she didn’t mind then didn’t shut up about it all season, tho tbh she did defend Emily against Brian and cause an argument

At 1.10 in the clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj4jMww3ol4)

Emily: Are you offended?
Charley: No, not really

Of course the word IS offensive, i don't think anyone would disagree with that.

The point is that two different HMs used the same word in a similar 'street slang' kinda way, yet BB treats them both differently: which is unfair.

And because someone says they are not offended it means they are not?

You only have to look at her body language and what she told BB

It's an offensive word, no question (even though Charley does then say it twice herself in the same clip)

But the point is about BB treating two HMs differently for the same crime, which is inconsistent and unfair

People get in trouble all the time today for saying it, just as they did 11 years ago

Just seems like one rule for some people, one rule for others and i don't get why?

Probably because he's white and looks stereotypically British .
Plus his English is clear and the other housemates would of heard him alot better, I bet there woudnt be baffled expressions ,Natalie wouldn't be laughing then .
