Better spin than Alastair Campbell
I wonder whether this is Endemol subtly pitching the show to other broadcasters

*launch*
It means nothing, considering the fact that people tuned in to see if Stormy enters the house.

i don't get what they mean by "market share" though... my thoughts...
I recall that throughout the years, Endemol tried to push for Live Feed and C5 didn't want it. They haven't seen eye to eye for a while.
But now I have noticed that Endemol has been praising CBB on it's performance. Weirdly enough, not speaking about the actual overall ratings, but had praised the young skew and social media increases on last year, and today has posted...
This is an odd statistic, and I have a feeling that they are doing it to somehow show C5 what they will be missing on? I have a feeling there have been a deal secured because i don't think Endemol would be posting this if they potentially have to work alongside C5 in the future. So, highest market share since CBB13... but, what does that mean? I have never seen something like this reported.

Tbf, regardless of spin, this looks very good. It even peaked at around 4m at one point, allegedly

They're obviously trying to show that BB is not dead yet, to whatever other channel they try to sell it after C5 will not renew the contract.
Both C5 and Endemol are in the muscle flexing business.

Now, could this be good news for Timeshift? Because these growths in the young skew, more talk on social media etc... doesn't reflect the actual ratings, so I am hoping that it's adding a **** load on catch-up.
We will see the first officials on Monday of the first 4 days of the series (Thursday-Sunday)

Endemol will likely have access to daily consolidated data so will know the consolidated launch figure which this will be about.

I emailed him once with a novel worth of things they need to improve on. He told me that he agrees with them all and hopes that they're implemented as he thinks the show has potential.
Then about a month later he released the statement about how he wants a C5 without BB. I think that was last year.

I dont know what consolidated figures means, but how much higher was the launch ratings than last year in overnights? From that we could estimate what the consolidated figures are for the rest of the series, assuming thise numbers are the most important as opposed to overnights

Consolidated includes catch-up and recordings etc. & Market share is the percentage of people watching TV at the time who tuned into BB.

Thanks, is that basically the same as the share reported in overnigh ratings, for example the 7% last night?
What was the reported share of the launch in the overnights and what was it last year if anyone knows?

I looked it up, and in the overnights, the launch show was up 19% year on year. In the consolidated figures that almost doubles. If that increase is consistent, then, assuming share in overnights for the rest of the series is about the same as last year, that would mean the share in consolidated should be up around 17%, which is very impressive if actually the case.
