View Full Version : Whitbread to sell Costa Coffee to Coca-Cola for £3.9bn

[Whitbread acquired Costa in 1995 for £19m when it had 39 shops. It now has
more than 2,400 outlets and is embarking on an overseas expansion.]

[On the one hand £3.9bn is an undeniably rich valuation and likely far better than Costa
could achieve as an independently listed company, valuing its earnings higher than those of the mighty Starbucks.]

..maybe time to show them how it’s done, TS...as I know you’re a coffee connoisseur....maybe Toysta Coffee could give them a run for their £3.9bn...

I'll instantly improve their profits by making them throw away those horrible fruity coffee beans they use and getting them a supplier of a proper strong roast.

..yeah I’m thinking now that it would work nicely and I’m sure of your profit making abilities, TS...I would have no doubts about those...but I’m not really someone who would just invest and then have some crazy dumb Scottish person be responsible for my investment..because I’m also a smart chick...

..I have no coffee knowledge so I’d leave that all up to you and be confident it would be the best coffee ever...but I’m now thinking it could be Hotel ToyAmmi instead...so combining Costa’s with Hotel Chocolat..?...I’ll do the chocolat bit as that’s more my thing...and it could be a hotel as well, as in a room for the night for the homeless etc with pet companions allowed as well..?...experiencing fine coffee and fine chocolate in their stay..?...ok, it’s a done deal then...we’re good to go, TS...we’ll be ordering our yachts and private planes soon.....
