"Coverage of day one of the 42nd Ryder Cup from the Albatros Course of Le Golf National near Paris, where Europe play the USA. Today's play will be separated into two sessions of four-ball and foursome contests, with four matches beginning in the morning and four more getting under way this afternoon. The winners of each contest will claim one point for their team, or the point will be shared if the tie ends in a draw. When this event took place at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota, USA two years ago it was the Americans who came out on top of day one, winning all four of the morning foursomes to take a commanding lead, which was reduced slightly by the Europeans when they won the afternoon fourballs 3-1"
