Just a feeling that there is a little bit of racist behavoir towards Hardeep

Do you think if he was black and not Asian they would treat him better for fear of being racist but as he is Asian (and Scottish) they are more relaxed about showing their true feelings?

no, Sukhvinder and Imran were coming over quite well in the house last year with civilian BB

so race has nothing to do with why the other hm's (and me) dislike Hardeep

and honestly i do like Hardeep's brother, who has a better sense of humour than he has for me personally, i just don't get the whole hype around Hardeep tbh

I think the way they keep going on about his hairiness and his cooking has some racist undertones alright.

They were on dodgy ground with the whole row over chicken if they'd had started going down the road of that's how "those" people cook.

I'm seen more racism going on about him outside the house though, even in here, people slagging off him wearing a skirt without even realising it's part of his culture. That's probably more stupidity than anything though.

She was a self-obsessed, professional victim and trouble-maker (kinda like Roxanne was); she was rude about everyone behind their backs and a constant source of stress and humiliation for her doting husband.

All that virtue-signalling chat about the other female HMs not being strong etc, then she goes and walks when Imran gets evicted

A memorable BB character (for all the wrong reasons) but certainly not loved by all.

Yeah, it just reminded me of the Shilpa stuff where the next sentence after they complained about her under cooking chicken was "maybe that's why they're all so skinny over there" ...... I don't think they're being actively racist though like Jo, Danielle & co were, I doubt they even realise they're doing it

Point 1 Having body hair is not a race, white people have a lot of body hair too

Point 2 "IF" Being the big word here ,but they haven't said anything about " These people" so its not an issue

I would agree with his Paula. I think all the remarks about his body hair are pretty offensive and personal and they do come over as borderline racist to me. Specially when Sally said something about tying his back hair up like his head hair. Much more offensive and frequent than his sympathetic overtones to Sally about her bunion.

Her spat with imran over alchohol was her only bad moment in there and even then she’s not comparable to Roxanne? She’s honest and upfront and a bit messy but she owns her flaws and stands by people she believes in and sees pure of heart, not like roxy who operates in the shadows. She was the best in her series by a mile. Would’ve been legendary if she didn’t walk sigh

I'd like to agree bro, but she wasn't honest or upfront: (eg - hiding booze?).

Remember her back-biting talks in the garden with Imran, saying how 'these people are not good, they're all fake' etc etc? She never gave specific examples, just constant generalising and angry labelling of other people.

She was flawed, sure (we all are) but she blamed everyone but herself.

And her delivery was SO stressful, man! She made normal conversations feel like arguments; And she had plenty of proper arguments with most people in there too.

Memorable HM but a total headache.

(and yeah you're right - she never went as LOW or as serious as Roxanne did, but she was a professional victim, like Roxanne is)

Hardeep is actively campaigning for nominations to keep his "I'm being ostracized" storyline going. I don't know how people can fall for this crap. He reminds me a bit of Michael Madsen, creating arguments out of nowhere and then acting like it's being forced upon him and storming out of rooms in fake exasperation.

I mean I don’t wanan get into a HUGE debate about this because that series was so awful and was filled to the brim with garbage housemates, I can see why you think she’s a chronic complainer and victim with her talking with imran about the housemates, to me that just seemed like she had her guard up and didn’t wanna unravel her life secrets to z listers who had their eye on the prize, and like it’s not like she was wrong Ellie and lotan revealed themselves to be total fakes. The whole hiding the wine thing was such a petty argument like they were all doing it and her reaction was pretty intense but I also feel like there’s a mutual understanding/respect between the two (and I could never see her getting physical). Like she’s well aware she has flaws which is why she respects imran so much because he’s so good at handing them and loving her not in spite but with her shortcomings. To me it all indicates she has a bit of a high guard up which snwhy she was so attached to imran, and it never manifested into malice. In fact she ended up making super good friends with Chanelle raph the sisters and admitted her first impression of Chanelle was completely wrong. All her other outbursts were just, imo, especially when Kayleigh was brushing over her food lol
To me she seems like someone who’s honest with their thoughts about a person and doesn’t want to waste anytime, is very loyal but also someone that doesn’t wanna share themselves human to human off the cuff. She came across to me as someone who’s fair but won’t take bs and will stand by her values and people no matter what. She also made great tv

The only reason race is even mentioned in this house is due to the big fat chip on Hardeeps shoulder about his own ethnicity

For him to keep referring to himself as the 'brown' housemate is pathetic

I would imagine he uses his race as an excuse in all walks of like, which is really insulting to other people of colour who dont use it as a stick to beat others with

His main problem has nothing to do with colour, his main problem is that he is a supposed 'comedian' who isnt in the least bit funny

Also the way he bashes the f..k out of the chicken before he cooks it, and then doesnt cook it properly at all is vile

Yeah. He was always going to be seen as different through no fault of his own, and some perhaps subconsciously allow that to play a role in how they treat him. Whether that could be considered racism or not is up for debate but at the very least it's harsh and uncalled for. And it's quite sad too, really. On the other hand though, there are plenty of white people who have also suffered the same sort of treatment, John, Halfwit, Richard etc. So maybe it really is a case of being ostracised based on personality rather than race, but even still it's pretty rough to watch.

I've seen no racism.

If there is a specific example of actual racism in there, then someone please point it out so we can condemn it.

Hardeep's a deliberate wind-up; his behaviour and comments have given PLENTY of reasons for HMs to be annoyed by him.
There's no more grounds to presume racism than there is grounds to presume ageism, sexism, height-ism, or any other 'ism'.

But really - it's just him, as an individual. He winds people up on purpose. His responsibility, he's a smart adult.

No need to cover that with an 'ism'.

Imma not hold a gun to his head and tell him to put a shirt on but I’m not gonna pretend I’d prefer for him to have his shirt off. Dan and Ben and Jermaine, especially the former, have received ample criticism including from me for showing off their body all the time like it’s so transparent why. I hate ppl that are lax with clothing when indoors like I just find it revolting and it’s clear as day dan is trying to show off

It is anti Scottish Racism though, they are deliberately saying it s a skirt when they know it s a kilt, which is a skirt, yes, but they are knowingly wrongly calling it skirt rather than kilt to insult his Scottishness. You don t have to be a different colour for it to be racism. Deliberate abuse of others in general because of where they come from generalising about them as many English do about Scottish people is racism too.

REAL REASON FROM START THEY ARE AGAINST HARDEEP AND SO BIASED ( CORRUPTLY SO LIKE CORRUPT SALLY ) AGAINST HIM IS BECAUSE HE IS A GOOD PERSON AND HE TURNS THEIR STOMACHES BECAUSE HE REMINDS THEM ALL THAT THEY AREN T GOOD PEOPLE.

Kohli was born in London and moved to Glasgow in Scotland when he was four.[2] His parents came to Britain from India in the 1960s. The family's roots lie in the Punjab. His mother was a social worker, and his father a teacher. In the Bishopbriggs suburb, he became a wealthy property landlord.[2] His first school was Hillhead Primary School in the West End of Glasgow, after which he attended Meadowburn Primary in Bishopbriggs.[citation needed]

At age eight, he moved to John Ogilvie Hall, the primary school of St. Aloysius' College, a private Roman Catholic school in central Glasgow. Kohli studied Law at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 1990. While studying, Kohli worked in a vegetarian restaurant and worked as an usher at the Citizens Theatre.[3]

The fact he's lived there the vast majority of his life makes him just as Scottish as anybody.

Honestly Chuff just get to the point you're trying to make

Lol people always looking for racism where there isn't any.
The fact is that Harcreep is simply rubbing the housemates the wrong way, it's hard to tell if what he says is genuine or sarcastic. He likes to cause a stir. This makes him come off as quite a nasty person, which is why he's getting nominated.

but i don't have anything against his race and religion, what i said at first about wanting to see more from his indian roots, i meant that from a positive perspective honestly

it's his family roots, why not wanting to make a good impression on CBB like sharing that side of your family's culture some more, honour them and then i would've really called him an iconic housemate i swear

Probably not. Also, implying that I'm a racist because it's a "Sikh thing" is pretty dumb considering Sikhs aren't a race.

Gathering storm
Scholars pick up odd subjects for research: the oddest I have ever heard of is the incidence of flatulence: what causes it; what are its constituents and risks involved in exposing oneself to it. One such field survey has been recently carried out, appropriately in the region popularly called the underside of the earth, that is, Australia and New Zealand.

Breaking wind, or farting as it is commonly known, is too delicate a subject to be discussed in polite society. Nevertheless, our Sanskrit-speaking ancestors drew up a list of their varieties from uttam padvi (the best kind) to gupt daan (silent, stinking gift). Arabs regarded it as a social sin and ostracized men and women who did it in public. On the other hand, there was a Frenchman who made his living blowing off a candle from a foot's distance by a violent expulsion of wind from his derriere.

A newspaper clipping from an Australian daily sent to me by a friend living there summarizes his findings. Both men and women break wind on an average of 14 times in 24 hours; wind-producing foods include beans, cabbage, cheese, eggs and fizzy drinks; a fart comprises 59 per cent nitrogen, 20 per cent hydrogen, 9 per cent carbon dioxide, 7 per cent methane and 4 per cent oxygen. They can travel at a speed of three metres per second. What makes some farts stink is hydrogen sulphide, which contains sulphur and is less than 1 per cent of its constituents. It is believed to be inflammable. Research scholars are testing it by putting match sticks close to their rectum. Setting one's bum on fire is a small price to pay for discovering the truth.
