This is probably a bit to late to say anything but can be stop taking the piss out of Hardeep for being hairy when its a big part of his religion? Religious Intolerance is a major issues within the forum.

Hair is a gift from God, therefore why should anyone give it away by cutting it? Hair is one of the five articles of faith for Sikhs. Sikhs live the way God made humans and never cut their hair. For Sikhs hair is the symbol of love for God and the respect for everything He has given us. The way God made us is the most beautiful of all.

Doesn't mean he needs to cook with his hairy belly wobbling over the food though does it

Whether he does or not it is not fair to insult him on something so important to him

No one said he should cut it, but instead just contribute to general hygiene like wearing a tshirt whilst cooking etc.

There's a lot of things important to me but doesn't make them exempt from becoming insults.

Also body hair is less likely to fall in food then hair from the head

So many religions, so many daft religious ideas.

There are political views I would not respect (I'm a lefty like Hardeep) and there are religious views I don't respect.

I don't recognise a difference between criticising housemates for their politics or their religion (or in Kirstie's case, both, though I like her as a person and as a housemate).

His religious superstitions should be for himself they should not impact on any of the housemates and he should expect no special treatment for his superstitions passed on to him by his parents

Half of the worlds Sikhs now cut their hair anyway as they have realisd how fecking daft it is (source wiki)

Agree. Religion should be on a par with political beliefs or scientific beliefs. They are not inherent qualities.

I mean in some cultures not neccesarilly, and that doesn't make it any less of an important issue.

Perhaps a rule of no politics or religion should be the rule.

But CBB just loves arguments, don't they.

However, we did not see Hardeep practice any of his religion in the house, or was it mentioned that he did?

hardeep did not grow hair on his body due to his religion. he is just a hairy fat man. Some men have hair on their torso and some dont, its nowt to do with religion.

I have criticised Hardeep over his breaking wind, picking his nose, scratching his privates and bottom, and burping - ALL revolting habits which he COULD 'reign-in'.

I agree that his excessive body hair is a result of nature but I for one do NOT enjoy looking at it any more than I like looking at other 'natural' physical anatomical realities such as obese flesh, varicose veins or cellulite.

Hardeep CANNOT do anything to STOP his excessive body hair from growing, and he may well have 'Religious' considerations which prevent him from cutting it or removing it, but he should also have considerations to other people who he has ELECTED to live with on CBB who may not enjoy seeing his body hair quite as often as he exhibits it by constantly going topless.

ESPECIALLY whilst he is cooking.

He COULD cover up more often.

There comes an 'age' when the human body ALWAYS looks better when clothed and Hardeep should be aware of this.

I am probably the oldest - active - member on this forum so I am not being 'ageist' just a realist.

Which male would rather see Sally in a swimsuit than Gabby?

Which female would rather see Hardeep topless than Dan?

My view has NOTHING to do with any 'Religious Intolerance and all to do with personal preference and I am confident that most of this forum is the same.

I wanted Hardeep to stay ,but he was an easy target and didn't help himself. But Sally was awful to him .

He cooked topless & he didn't tie his hair up , a professional chef would wear a chef hat and wear an apron at least .

I noticed that the last couple of shows he wasn't topless, after the tweet about the hair in the crisps. So maybe if someone had said to him sooner he'd have worn a top all the time.

I don't like the look of all that body hair either but I think it's horrible that people are calling him disgusting and unhygienic because of it. People have been calling him smelly, do you have smell vison on your tellies?

It's called basic food safety and hygiene. If it was a restaurant he'd be heavily reprimanded! That shows there's something wrong with him cooking topless. I wouldn't even do that in my own home!

Very interesting to learn that

@Bold That very last part in particular does explain for me the framework for some of his beliefs in the house... that's something I would've liked to have heard between some of his temper tantrums...

So I don't think anyone meant to be religiously intolerant specifically.. Even I did not agree at all with the criticism about his hair. I thought it could be an asset as far as women go. Being blunt though, people will often find many reasons to moan about someone on a show like this... even if it wasn't about his hair, it would've been something else ...

The difference with Hardeep is he had managed create an unfriendly atmosphere around a range of topics, particularly subjects regarding his and other's physical dress and aspects of physical appearance. Because these were seen as protected property that cannot even be addressed without his permission and his "guiding" (i.e. controlling) those conversations... and then his protectionism about the role of being the cook... that made a lot of conversation around the hygiene issues unpalatable (pun unintended).

...So rather than those discussions becoming your normal conversations between housemates, they inevitably became about him and his unstable role as the affected HM because made his chip in his shoulder a main plotline... Inadvertently, he has made himself the topic of the house/TiBB... and it's this extroversion that people will often punish when it falls out of favor with their own favorites... so the personal attacks about his hair and his "disgusting-ness", his way of caring himself, etc... it was all made fairplay as he made himself the capital for conversations centering around "tolerance", even though he absolutely is not an expert on that category of discussion...

So yeah, a lot of things can seem like intolerance of various types... but his winning over and over was a real threat for to fans of other folk in the house. So people will look for any button to press at another HM's/their fans expense, not knowing what's underneath... BB does not have a very tolerant audience in general and unfortunately "friendly fire" inevitably happens when people go to war for their favorites...

Friendly fire

Friendly fire is an attack by a military force on non-enemy, own, allied or neutral, forces while attempting to attack the enemy, either by misidentifying the target as hostile, or due to errors or inaccuracy.

Anyway, to my response about the personal attacks, I'm pretty much in line with Cherie here ...

Well maybe in his mind, his excessive hair is accordance with God's wishes  ... it could be said, what we view as "disgusting" is in line with calling it an abomination, and because we know he likes to publicly announce his bag of chips on just about everything he believes. Maybe for him the force-feeding his hair onto the other HM's eyeballs is a personal declaration of enlightened independence :smug:... but religious musings aside, he does seem to carry himself like he couldn't be arsed what other people think... he's very pro-Hardeep... #Hardeep2020 ...?

In BB5 Shell and Jason cooked bottomless. Just an apron covering their front bits but their arses were on display.

Whether Haardeep's overall hairiness is religious observance, or not, if I'd had all the stick they were giving him in there, I'd have made sure a couple of my pubes found their way into the food I cooked for them!
