Is there a way to see if tablets are compatible with certain apps?

I'm looking to get a new tablet, and I know that generally, even cheapo tablets are pretty much okidoke these days. But that doesn't mean they can work some of the more complex apps. Does the Google Play store, or any other sites, have a way to see which tablets an app is (in/)compatible with? I don't want to buy the tablet if it can't run the apps I want.

Does anyone have an Amazon Fire 7 Alexa 7, how good/crap are they?
