I feel like my family is slowly falling apart. :bawling:

My mum and older sister (22) have been hating on each other for ages now. I'm 16 and the youngest in my home, but It's become apparent to me that they just haven't been getting along. They are by no means abusing each other, but just can never be happy for each other.

My mum has been criticizing my sister for being cold towards her whole family and shutting them out ever since she got a boyfriend. I don't feel like she has with me, but definitely with aunties and my parents. My mum always throws in little jabs and digs at her whenever she can, just basically complaining about something she's done.

My sister, always confides in me saying she hates mum SO much and, I just sit there and listen/nod. I can tell that she is the mostly cold towards mum, and I always wonder if it's justified to feel that way. God forbid, my mum is the backbone of our household and we would all be literal headless chickens without her. But she can be really passive aggressive and moody towards everybody whenever she's not happy about something. But she has SO many good days too where I admire her so much.

I'm just so lost, like am I supposed to take a side, or do I just sit there and wait for us all to fall apart?? :bawling:

I want us to remain a strong, loving family forever, and although nothing serious has happened yet, I'm afraid connections and ties are slowly gonna be cut and it's stressing me out coz I love these gals so much :bawling:

Without obvious answers like, "Family Therapy" or "Your sister should just move out", what can be done to mend their relationship?

In a situation like this, call for a family meeting and say whatever you said here and just hope they listen to you and at least have a civil relationship with each other...

I'm really sorry that you are experiencing this... :(

siblings, especially females, when they get older will clash with parents (especially mums) . In the animal kingdom the chick would be booted out the nest and told to fend for themselves.

The 22 year old needs to fly the nest and make her own way in the world, or obey your mum, show her some respect and pipe down.

Does she pay your mum rent and help running the home can I ask?

She contributes a tad, probably not as much as an adult should if they're gonna be living in the house permanently

But I don't feel like that is the root of the conflict, I think it goes deeper.

Do you have any idea of what the REAL root cause is then?

Have you broached the real cause with your sister?

Don't be stupid

happens in BB every series

and it sounds like its the exact same in this case. The girl needs to set up her own home where she can be the boss
