Yes was on SkyNewsHD
if true
he should be jailed

The 31-year-old singer was arrested by police on 2 December 2016 the morning after performing in the city.

[An allegation of rape and sexual assault was made by a 20-year-old woman following the concert at a nightclub.
A statement released at the time of the pop star's arrest, by his representatives from 10 Worlds Music UK,
which looked after Williams, said the singer denied the accusations.]

“Ryan Thomas accused of domestic abuse” would have been a national headline two weeks ago had they not been participating in a tv show. It’s a shame those accused always get named and shamed in the media when they haven’t yet been tried and found guilty.

The rohypnol was too strong for her testimony to be reliable?

I don't know why men get so excited when a guy gets let off or found not guilty of a rape charge, like it proves women are liars and are always bringing false allegations against men, when the majority of the time, there just isn't enough evidence to convict that man.

***I don't know anything about this specific case, I'm just talking in general

The 'oh, here we go again, a woman wanting cash/fame' type response annoys me too (the fame one especially so as..name one celeb who is famous just because they acused someone of rape..). As if celebs aren't capable of raping someone. I even saw a 'he would get enough sex as hes lush and famous, so no way would he rape someone' (paraphrased) response on my facebook. Removed that person immediately, what a twat.

Oddly, when a bloke says he was raped, the responses are different. Men who come forward saying they were sexually abused as kids are brave for coming forward as adults. Women saying the same are liars wanting to get revenge on someone they dislike and why did they wait so long to say it, or something.

Yeah, if anything, people get harassed more than sympathy if they accuse someone famous of rape or sexual assault.

And yes, generally speaking men don't rape women because it's the only way they can get sex, it's a power and control thing which if anything, you would think famous people are more prone to wanting?

And don't forget "Why did they wait till now though?" never hear that if a man comes forward (and rightly so too but why don't women get the same courtesy?)

Ahh had added that probably while you were quoting. I need to think out posts fully before putting them tbh as I always add on a load afterwards D:

Alot do believe them though, I think Michael Jackson is a bit of an exception though because of who he is and his mega fans would defend him no matter what i think

I think thats the only time its been done, and thats basically as MJ is like a god to his fans. But yeah, they got the 'woman' treatment too and its shocking tbh.

Yeah, its different..female accusers constantly get that treatment, where male ones, it seems it depends if the accused has megafans ready to defend anything.

Either way, the leap to 'they are lying' or..saying that because a case was not succesful that means the person lied is just..crap.

The trouble for me with famous people being accused is that they are named, straight away, even before charges are brought... or dropped. But the accuser is entitled to lifelong anonymity. There has been a move in recent years where some women have waived their right to anonymity, and that has really changed the public's perception of them. I'm not saying that every victim must stand up and be named, but if the naming process was more equal it would help, I think.

That's a problem with your laws around cases like these for sure, here the accused can't be named unless they're found guilty and even then only if the victim agrees (i think)

It is, better for the victim too I think, especially when the guy is famous because it's the women who get all the abuse anyway

Well, it immediately removes the scope for assumption that the victim is doing it for money/fame.
