Big Brother presenter Davina McCall will quit the Channel 4 reality show after the next series.


The 39-year-old mum-of-three has been the face of the show for the last seven years, but it is understood that she wants to move on and work on other TV projects....

this was speculation untill davina herself told the nation that there is no way she is leaving big brother. its definately not true.

I dont think she is leaving as i remeber her talking about big brother stoping and she was saying somethink like 'there not stoping now, and that she is so glad to be apart of big brother' and all things like that. So i think there is no chance of her leaving until Big Brother comes to a end!

I find her amazing, She makes big brother what it is! I love when its evictions and we get her comments throughout the show, I wouldent mind if it was like that all the time, but i suppose she would influence our opinions on the housemates.

Davina may be facing eviction from the Big Brother house after this series
Davina McCall is expected to be axed as presenter of Big Brother in the aftermath of the race row which has tarnished the show’s image.

Makers Endemol and Channel 4 are not thought to be renewing her contract for next year’s series.

Miss McCall, 39, said to earn £1 million from each run of the show, was widely criticised for her role in the flare-up between Jade Goody and Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty in the Celebrity Big Brother series in January.

Critics claimed she failed to properly interrogate Miss Goody about her behaviour when she was interviewed after her eviction.

Questions were asked about how much influence Miss McCall’s agent, John Noel, had over the affair.

Noel was also acting for Miss Goody – and Big Brother co-host Russell Brand – at the time.

Channel 4 sources said last night that Miss McCall’s rolling contract would not be renewed for the next series. A new host would replace her.

Channel 4 itself, however, issued a rather vague statement about Miss McCall’s future, saying: "Big Brother would not be Big Brother without Davina.

"Davina is a fantastic front-person for the show and long may that continue."

Asked whether Miss McCall would be the presenter of next year’s show, the spokesman pointedly refused to answer.

The television watchdog Ofcom has found Channel 4 guilty of serious editorial misjudgment over the handling of the race row.

Producers are said to want to put the controversy behind them and win viewers’ hearts again.

By the time Ofcom produced its damning report last week, Miss McCall had already been signed up for another year.

A show insider said: "Davina will not be returning after this series. We just want to make a new start with a new presenter."

A spokesman for Miss McCall and John Noel did not wish to comment last night.

I doubt BB would do this to be honest - Davina herself is loved by most BB fans, therefore getting rid of her would hardly do the programme any good. And I don't see why she would want to leave either. At the end of the day, BB just isn't BB without Davina.

Well her talk show didn't workout and that is another project, so I think she'll stay as she probably does get a decent amount for doing it.

Personally speakin,I'd love to see the back of Davina , and she can take Dermot with her an' all.Davina isn't half as funny as she thinks she is,and lets face it ,this show is for 14 year old girlies.Time for some new blood . Whoever wins BB8 should be allowed to present BB9,that would make the whole thing more interesting.

Davina McCall has been a great presenter of BB & CBB & I certainly would miss her, but there are quite a few other presenters who could take her place.

The article says that Davina is about to be axed.

Then you think of that magic word, (Money):rolleyes:

Davina McCall may have problems with Endemol & Davina's agent will be the one sorting things out for Davina on her behalf.

Maybe she wants more (Money)?

Davina's agent will look out for her best interests and when you look at the money that Ant & Dec are getting & going to get over the next few years, it kinda places Davina in the shade some what.

Remember, (Those who have money & make plenty of money, nearly always crave more)

This happens in soap-operas, whereby soap stars want more money, so instead of getting more money, the show axes them.

The rule to learn, is, (Never think you are irreplaceable)
