Did anyone else get a bit confused when she said there was a new trend in music sweeping the country?
Indie music became big in the late 1980's early 1990's didnt it????:conf:

It's a new age of Indie, the 80's and 90's wern't exactly spectacular for producing Indie bands but now... theres loads emerging every year! Meaning more and more people are getting into it then before.
So leave Emily alone you big meanie.

I think it was just one of those comments where it wasnt intended the way it was said.
I think she just meant it was starting to become really popular now.

Not the bands. And I didnt say they werent spectacular:puzzled:
The whole genre of indie has only just started to be achknowledged fact. Course its an genre which has been round for ages, but its only just begun being a popular genre.

I'm not saying there crap, just different to what it is now. You can't exactly see thousands of people jumping up and down to the 'drugs don't work' can you! There was little life and energy in Indie back then with the exception of the odd band.

Oh I know its come around and there is new life back but what I was trying to say that indie is hardly new.
Its quite a general statement to make, indie music has been around for decades

Its her only mistake. Shes young and impressionable, so what, she likes soft pop rock, it doesnt make her a bad person.
She got it wrong but its hardly a big issue.

I was only making a comment on it...... that what a forum is all about.... discussing housemates, what they look like, what they say and do.

i think what emily ment when she said about indie being a new type of music was that its not neccesserily a 'new' like 'wow new shoes' but like say pop was like the big music now its indie because i agree it is becoming more popular right now so thats what she ment probably
Whatever she meant the truth is she sounded rather silly!

But what she said is true, it's sweeping the nation.. you only have to look about town to see that the indie style is being sold in nearly every shop!
Ok maybe what she said was, lets say, ill informed and not well thought out but you could understand what she way saying.
Long live Indie ;)...
Long live EMILY ;).... (untill she's with a fella anyway)

According to BBLB her favourite song is In The Morning by Razorlight. How very indie. :laugh2:
