To make life easier for everyone
Please try and make all posts about contestants in the correct contestant forum if possible and check that no suitable thread exists before posting a new topic.
I know it not always easy when things move so fast but your help in this is appreciated.
Thanks

Everyone does it is the excitement.......
Can i just ask why you have to post topics about each individual housemate in a different section?......Wouldn't it be easier to just keep it in the Big Brother 8 section?
I know it was like that last year and seemed to be fine? just wondering?

It something we did with Big Brother 6 that worked well and that people wanted back for Big Brother 8. It just makes the place more organised.
Once people get use to it is easy to use.
If you read the board using the today's Big Brother post link:
http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forum/today_big_brother.php
you can see all the Big Brother posts without having to look at the sub-forums.

Good morning, Red. It's always nice to see a friendly ... avatar. I don't remember that system being used before. Did it run all though BB6? I don't know why, but it's like there's a perimeter fence around this area of the forum that I'm reluctant to cross. I suppose it's because there's always so much activity in here, I don't get near the index very often. One thing I couldn't get my head around earlier, though - why was the poll about the twins moved from one of their sub-forums to the other? :conf:
And slices, or halves?

The twins are causing problems with the system just because they are twins and that is the way people see them.
When I moved a poll from BB8 into one of the twins forum areas I then moved it again into the other twins forum leaving a link to the other forum.
It was the only way I could think of doing it.

I've found that forums which employ too much categorisation tend to have the perihpheral forums overlooked by many and not visited that often.
Personally I think it would be much better to have all BB8 stuff in one forum ( This one )
Threads about wars ( or bonds ) between two housemates can't be put in mnor ethan one forum. So this forum contains theads abotu housemates as well as the individual forums.
Rather than being more organised IMO it makes it more messy.
IMHO :)

I think it's better to have separate contestant forums, because it makes the forum tidier, makes threads easier to find. Plus as the series goes on I expect people will get used to it and that there will be a lot more to discuss about individual housemates.

I found it was easier when there wasn't a set place to talk about individual housemates.

Would you not find it more difficult to find and sort through threads quickly though?

That definitely happens. The first forum I ever posted on was a BB section within a larger forum, and it was weeks at least before I ventured beyond it. Now that I administrate myself though, members who stick to one section and ignore the rest of the forum ('innocently' or not) are a bit of a pain.
But there's way too much activity here for everything on one page to be viable, I suppose. One of the most annoying things for any Mod to see is important topics slipping off page one, replaced by multiple threads of little merit. If anything this system allows for more variety, and content that would otherwise be merged into another thread has the opportunity to develop into an interesting topic. Lots of people enjoy a little area where most of the posts are positive towards their favourite/s, too.

If your having problems try clicking the link which lists todays Big Brother posts. It is just below the site logo.

I've fixed the today's 'BB posts only' page so that it shows posts from the contestants sub-forums. It wasn't doing that before.

It happens and we merge them as soon as we notice them. Best we can do it's just going to keep happening if people don't check before they start new threads.
