View Full Version : Family dilemma.
If you live at home with parents, or are a married parent or can remember when you were a kid..
When you want something or wanted something, or have someone asking for something....
Which parent gets asked first?

Was always dad for me, as he was softer. My mother was the last resort only if dad had said no, and that didn't often work

My mum has always been the first to say yes (and we usually come to half and half agreement).
My dad is harder to convince but when he is he will pay for all of it.
It was always my mum, even though the answer was usually no. I would never have asked my dad.
Not as a teenager anyway.

Aww, I carried the tradition on and made mine cheese on toast if they wanted.. Cause it's a dish any idiot can make without asking anyone.

I always asked my mum because she was more likely to say yes .
In my own house, my daughters will ask either of us, whoever is on hand at the time BUT my eldest has a very firm opinion that my wife's answer over-rules mine . So if she asks either of us and it's a "yes" then she's content. If she asks her mum and it's a "no", then it's a "no". If she asks me and it's a "no", then she goes and asks her mum, and then if her mum says "yes", comes back like "Well mum says yes so ha ha".

You need to ensure that you are the man of the house TS not your wife :nono:
